Has Greenland now become part of the US? Trump shares picture of flag being planted.

Donald Trump News: US President Donald Trump is continuously making claims regarding Greenland. Meanwhile, Europe and the US appear to be at odds over Greenland. Amidst this entire situation, Donald Trump shared a picture on the social media platform Truth Social.

This picture has now increased concerns in several European countries, including Denmark. In the picture, Donald Trump is shown planting a flag on Greenlandic soil. JD Vance and Marco Rubio are also visible in the photo. A sign in the picture reads, “Greenland – US Territory – EST 2026”.

Canada, Greenland, and Venezuela shown as part of the US:

Trump also shared a map showing Canada, Greenland, and Venezuela as part of the United States. It’s worth noting that last year, Trump suggested that Canada become the 51st state of the US. Immediately after winning the election in May, Prime Minister Mark Carney, in his first press conference, completely rejected Trump’s suggestion, saying,

“It’s important to distinguish between wishes and reality.”

On Tuesday, the US President spoke with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on the phone about Greenland and said he would meet with several parties in Davos. He reiterated his stance on Greenland, calling it integral to US and global security.

US to deploy NORAD aircraft:

Amidst the ongoing dispute over Greenland, the US is now going to deploy a North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) aircraft at the Pituffik Space Base in Greenland. Tensions have escalated amidst President Trump’s threats to seize Greenland. NORAD said that the aircraft will arrive at the base to complete various long-planned activities.

They also stated that this action was taken in coordination with Denmark and Greenland. NORAD regularly works on the air and space defense of North America, which includes its three regions: Alaska, Canada, and the continental United States. This American move came shortly after a multinational military exercise led by the Danish army.
