Veteran actor Achyut Potdar, who rose to fame for his memorable role as the strict professor in Bollywood film ‘3 Idiots’, passed away on 18 August 2025. He was 91 years old and breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Jupiter Hospital in Thane. He was admitted to the hospital due to health issues, however, the exact cause of his death has not been made public yet.

His last rites will be performed on 19 August in Thane.The demise of Achyut Potdar is a great loss to Indian cinema, especially the Marathi film industry, Bollywood and TV world. Both fans and colleagues are deeply saddened by his demise.
