Sangathan Badhao, Loktantra Bachao / Rajasthan: Ahead of the upcoming municipal and panchayat elections, the Congress in Rajasthan has launched a large-scale organizational drive titled ‘Sangathan Badhao, Loktantra Bachao’. The initiative aims to strengthen the party’s presence at the grassroots level by mobilizing lakhs of workers across rural and urban areas.
Top Leaders to Lead Statewide Outreach
State Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra stated that he, along with Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully, will personally tour different parts of the state to promote the campaign and connect with people at the ground level.
Mega Protest Planned in Jaipur
As part of its political strategy, the party has also announced a major protest against the government on March 27 in Jaipur. The demonstration is expected to draw significant participation from party workers and supporters.
Over 5 Lakh Workers to Be Appointed
For the first time, the Congress plans to establish structured committees at the gram panchayat level. Each panchayat will have a 21-member executive body, including a president. With 14,726 gram panchayats in the state, this will result in more than 3.23 lakh office bearers in rural areas alone.
Focus on Urban Wards as Well
The campaign will also cover urban regions. In 10,245 municipal wards, similar 21-member committees will be formed. This move is expected to create over 2.11 lakh office bearers in cities and towns.
Target Deadline Set for April
District presidents have been instructed to complete the formation of these committees by April 19. Overall, the party has set a target of appointing more than 5.35 lakh office bearers across Rajasthan under this campaign.
Strengthening Organization Before Elections
With this initiative, the Congress is focusing on building a strong organizational network at the booth and ward level, aiming to improve coordination and boost its prospects in the upcoming local body elections.
