Gopal Mandal sits on protest outside CM’s residence, anger grows over seat ticket

Bihar Assembly Election 2025 :

Following the seat-sharing agreement within the Bihar NDA, a wave of discontent has intensified among local MLAs. In particular, the displeasure of Gopal Mandal, a close confidante of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has become a topic of discussion. MLA Gopal Mandal, from Gopalpur in Bhagalpur district, arrived at the Chief Minister’s residence this morning and made strong statements demanding a ticket for his constituency.

Gopal Mandal stated that he had been standing outside the Chief Minister’s residence since 8:30 a.m. and would not leave until he received a ticket. He claimed that he was a strong leader and would return only after meeting the Chief Minister. According to him, his ticket was confirmed and he would not return without a symbol.

This incident occurred a few days after Gopal Mandal had made a statement regarding the party’s policies, stating that the chances of leadership emerging from the Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs) had diminished. These comments sparked discontent within the party, and there was talk that another leader might be fielded for his seat.
