Dholpur: The Dholpur Bar Association’s struggle committee has submitted a memorandum through the District Judge to the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court (Jodhpur), demanding chambers for advocates in the newly constructed court premises.
Led by committee chairman Raghunath Prasad Sharma, the memorandum highlights the need for proper seating facilities for over 500 practicing advocates currently working in the existing court premises. The association has requested the allotment of 2666 square yards of land for this purpose.
According to Sharma and Bar Association President Prashant Hundawal, the new court complex is located in a hilly region where temperatures are often higher than average. At present, advocates are forced to sit under tin sheds, which is detrimental to their health during extreme heat.
The advocates have specifically asked for the vacant land located on the northern side of the new court area to be allotted to the Bar Association for chamber construction.
Previously, advocates staged a protest in the court premises demanding better infrastructure. They have clearly stated that unless proper seating arrangements are made, they will oppose the shifting of judicial operations to the new premises.
The association has also met with Rajakhera MLA Rohit Bohra, who assured them of government support and promised to raise the issue with the concerned authorities, including seeking funds for building chambers.
