Bharatpur ACB Catches Patwari Red-Handed Taking ₹8,000 Bribe for Land Demarcation

In a significant crackdown on corruption, the Bharatpur unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a patwari red-handed on Thursday evening while accepting a bribe of ₹8,000. The accused, Mukesh Kumar, was caught inside the tehsil office while taking the bribe for carrying out boundary demarcation of land in Peepala village.

According to Additional SP of ACB Amit Singh, the bureau received a complaint from a local resident alleging that the patwari had demanded ₹10,000 for initiating the boundary marking process of his family’s agricultural land. The patwari had also formed an official team via the tehsildar to execute the task but persistently pressured the complainant for a bribe.

Following a verification of the complaint on June 3, the ACB team laid a trap. On Thursday, as the complainant handed over ₹8,000 to the patwari at the tehsil office, the ACB team caught him in the act. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is underway.
