The hearing will be on a petition filed by Wangchuk’s wife, Geetanjali Angmo, in which she has termed his detention under the National Security Act (NSA) as unconstitutional and has sought his immediate release.

The petition will be considered by a bench of Justices Arvind Kumar and N.V. Anjaria. Geetanjali argues that her husband’s arrest was carried out out of political vendetta and violates his civil rights.It is noteworthy that Sonam Wangchuk has been charged with serious charges of inciting violence and inciting a mob in Ladakh, following which he was detained under the NSA.

The entire nation is closely watching the Supreme Court hearing on this case, which touches upon important issues such as civil rights, freedom of expression, and misuse of the law.
