Damage to the Statue

According to local reports, the vandals damaged the face and hands of the statue under the cover of darkness. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when villagers gathered at the site. As news of the desecration spread, a large number of followers and activists from various social organizations reached the spot to register their protest.

Bhim Army and Azad Samaj Party Lead Protests

Upon receiving the information, Vinod Yadav Ambedkar, State In-charge of Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) Madhya Pradesh, and leader Sandeep Chauhan reached the village with several supporters. They assessed the situation and expressed strong resentment against the lack of security at the site.

Vinod Yadav Ambedkar addressed the gathering, stating:

“This is not just an attack on a statue; it is an assault on our self-respect and the faith we hold in the Father of the Constitution. We have had a positive discussion with the administration via telephone. Our demands are clear: immediate restoration of the statue, beautification of the premises, and the registration of an FIR against the culprits.”

Administrative Response

Recognizing the sensitivity of the matter, Malharganj SDM Nidhi Verma took stock of the situation. She assured the Bhim Army leaders and the local community that the statue would be repaired promptly and the dignity of the site would be restored. She further added that the police are investigating the matter, and strict legal action will be taken against those responsible for disturbing communal harmony.

Warning of Mass Movement

While the administration has promised swift action, leaders from the Azad Samaj Party and Bhim Army have warned that any negligence in the investigation would lead to a massive public agitation. For now, the village remains under police watch to prevent any further escalation of the situation.

The protest saw the participation of members from the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram), Bhim Army, and aware citizens of Revati village.
