Special Two-Day Campaign Conducted on the Instructions of DGP Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma

JAIPUR | Administrative Desk

In a major push to strengthen law and order and establish effective control over criminals, the Rajasthan Police Headquarters has been conducting continuous intensive campaigns. Under the direction of Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma, a large-scale special cordon search (Nakabandi) operation was carried out across various police ranges for two days last week. During this period, thousands of vehicles were inspected, and strict action was taken against rule violators and suspicious activities.

Intensive Inspection at 727 Nakabandi Points

Additional Director General (Law and Order), Shri V.K. Singh, stated that the special campaign covered the Bikaner, Jodhpur, and Jaipur ranges on the first day, followed by the Bharatpur, Udaipur, and Kota ranges on the second day.

Vehicle Statistics: During this period, 16,676 two-wheelers and 18,795 four-wheelers were thoroughly inspected.

Strict Action Against Traffic Violators

ADG Shri Singh reported that as part of the special drive, action was taken against 262 drivers for drunk driving. Additionally, citations were issued to:

1,173 riders without helmets.

1,213 drivers without seat belts.

75 drivers caught using mobile phones while driving.

Crackdown on Number Plates and Black Films

Extensive action was taken against vehicles with number plates that did not meet prescribed standards, were blurred, or had black films.

Number Plate Violations: 857 cases were registered for number plate-related offenses.

Black Films: 739 cases were registered for the use of black films on vehicles.

Total Enforcement: Including other violations under the Motor Vehicle (MV) Act, a total of 7,185 actions were taken.

Range-wise Performance: Jodhpur and Udaipur Lead

Jodhpur Range: Highest enforcement with 1,633 MV Act cases registered.

Udaipur Range: Followed with 1,583 cases.

Jaipur Range: 1,094 cases registered.

Other Ranges: Bikaner (954), Bharatpur (986), and Kota (935) cases were recorded.

Seizure of Illegal Weapons, Liquor, and Gravel; 150 Arrested

The campaign also led to the disclosure of several serious criminal cases.

Arrests: A total of 150 people were arrested across various FIRs and sections of the BNSS.

Serious Crimes: 10 FIRs each were registered under the Arms Act and the NDPS Act, while 53 FIRs were filed under the Excise Act.

Kota Range Action: 6 cases of illegal sharp-edged weapons were registered, and nearly 200 liters of country-made liquor were seized.

Illegal Mining: In Kota, a major crackdown on illegal mining led to the seizure of approximately 75 tons of black gravel along with 11 vehicles, including dumpers, tractors, and trailers.

Expert Analysis: Sustainable Security and Deterrence

Administrative observers note that such sudden, large-scale operations serve as a powerful deterrent against organized crime and habitual offenders. By integrating traffic enforcement with criminal surveillance, the Rajasthan Police is creating a safer environment for citizens while significantly disrupting the logistics of illegal mining and smuggling networks.

JAIPUR | Administrative Desk

In a significant move to strengthen the welfare, security, and social support of the Rajasthan Police family, the 26th meeting of the Rajasthan Police Welfare Fund Board was held on Wednesday. Presided over by DGP Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma at the Police Headquarters, the meeting focused on boosting the morale of the force and ensuring comprehensive protection for their families.

Key Directives: Major Relief for Retired Personnel and Families

The board took several humanitarian decisions aimed at providing financial stability to both serving and former members of the department:

Support for Retired Personnel: In a landmark decision, retired police personnel will now be eligible for financial assistance from the Police Welfare Fund to cover expenses for treating serious and long-term illnesses.

Maternity Expense Relief: To support police families during medical emergencies, the board decided to provide financial assistance for additional expenses incurred during complex maternity operations or surgeries within a prescribed limit.

Compassionate Debt Waiver: The board approved the waiver of a pending loan amount of ₹5 lakh in the name of the late Constable Shri Ratandeep Meena of the Third Battalion RAC Bikaner, providing much-needed relief to his bereaved family.

Modernization and Expansion of Infrastructure

The board emphasized upgrading facilities to improve the working environment and quality of life for personnel:

Upgrading Canteens and Libraries: A decision was made to invite proposals for modernizing and equipping police line canteens and libraries with better facilities.

Extension to New Districts: Proposals have been invited to open Central Police Kalyan Bhandar (CPC) canteens in newly created districts and units to ensure equal access to welfare facilities for all personnel.

Scholarship Revision: The board will examine proposals to increase and standardize the rates for technical and professional scholarships, with a decision expected in the next meeting.

Financial Discipline and Transparency

The meeting approved the income and expenditure statement for the financial year 2025-26. DGP Shri Rajiv Kumar Sharma stressed that maintaining the morale of the force and providing their families with a sense of security is the department’s top priority. He called for absolute transparency, accountability, and effective implementation of all welfare schemes.

Expert Analysis: A Boost for the Force’s Morale

Administrative experts believe that extending health benefits to retired personnel is a commendable step that strengthens the bond between the department and its staff. Such financial cushions during medical or family emergencies significantly reduce the stress on personnel, directly enhancing their operational efficiency. Furthermore, the expansion of facilities to newly formed districts ensures that administrative growth is matched by grassroots-level welfare.
