Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma conducted an aerial survey of the highly anticipated Dewas-3 and Dewas-4 drinking water project in Udaipur on Sunday. The ambitious initiative is considered a lifeline for the ‘City of Lakes,’ aimed at providing a permanent and sustainable solution to the drinking water needs of Udaipur and its surrounding areas.

During the helicopter inspection, the Chief Minister closely evaluated the ongoing construction activities across multiple sites. He took detailed updates on the structural progress of the Dewas-3 and Dewas-4 dam axes, as well as the excavation work for Tunnel-3’s adits located at the 3.15 km, 5.325 km, and 9.10 km marks.

Strict Instructions for Quality and Timely Completion

Following his aerial review, CM Sharma held an extensive discussion with the administrative machinery and engineering teams regarding the project’s current status and the upcoming action plan. He issued firm instructions to the concerned officials to accelerate the pace of construction. The Chief Minister emphasized that all phases of the project must be completed within the stipulated timeframe while strictly adhering to high-quality benchmarks and comprehensive safety standards.

Securing Udaipur’s Future Water Supply

The primary objective of the Chief Minister’s review was to ensure that both the present and future drinking water requirements of Udaipur city and its adjacent rural belts are securely met. Completing this mega-project on time is crucial to permanently eliminating the risk of future water scarcity in the region.

Conclusion: Concluding the inspection, senior administrative and technical officers provided the Chief Minister with a comprehensive briefing. They submitted detailed reports covering the technical complexities of the dam and tunnel construction, along with the latest updates on the rehabilitation and resettlement operations currently underway for the affected populations.

Jaipur: Are you being targeted by online advertisements promising a daily return of ₹5,000 on an investment of just ₹10,000? If so, you need to exercise extreme caution. Cybercriminals have upgraded their arsenals, leveraging advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deepfakes to execute massive financial frauds.

Recognizing the alarming surge in these high-tech scams, the Cyber Crime Branch of the Rajasthan Police has issued a comprehensive advisory. Authorities have strongly warned citizens against investing their hard-earned money in unverified online platforms driven by the lure of quick profits.

The Dangerous Game of Celebrity Deepfakes

Additional Director General of Police (Cyber Crime), Shri V.K. Singh, revealed that scammers are increasingly misusing deepfake technology to clone the voices and faces of prominent figures. Cybercriminals are circulating highly convincing fake videos featuring Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, renowned business tycoons, and leading stock market investors. In these deceptive clips, the “celebrities” are seen endorsing specific trading apps and guaranteeing massive returns within days—claims that are entirely fabricated.

Modus Operandi: How the Trap is Set

The cyber fraud syndicate operates through a well-organized, step-by-step psychological trap:

Bait via Social Media: Fraudsters run highly attractive stock market and trading ads on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Telegram.

Entry into Fake Groups: Once a user clicks the ad, they are unwittingly added to WhatsApp or Telegram groups bearing professional-sounding names like “Elite Investment Group” or “Super Trading Club.”

Bots and Fake Proofs: The majority of members in these groups are not real investors but automated bots or fake accounts operated by the scammers. They constantly share fabricated screenshots of “millions in profits” to build trust.

Malicious App Downloads: After gaining the victim’s confidence, scammers convince them to download a fake trading app via a third-party APK file or unverified link.

The Withdrawal Trap: Initially, the app’s dashboard displays the victim’s deposited amount and massive fake profits. However, when the investor attempts to withdraw their money, the scammers demand extra payments under the guise of “taxes, commissions, or processing fees.” Once the extra money is paid, the scammers disappear.

Rajasthan Police’s Crucial Safety Guidelines

Vigilance is your strongest defense against cybercrime. The police have urged the public to follow these essential safety measures:

Stick to Official Stores: Only download applications from the official Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Never install apps from unknown APK files or random web links.

Verify SEBI Registration: Before investing a single rupee, always verify if the company, broker, or app is officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Update Privacy Settings: Change your WhatsApp and Telegram group privacy settings to “My Contacts” to prevent strangers from adding you to fraudulent investment groups.

No Transfers to Unknown Accounts: Avoid transferring funds to unknown personal bank accounts or UPI IDs, regardless of how lucrative the investment offer seems.

Where to Report Cyber Fraud Immediately

If you or someone you know falls victim to such a scam, immediate action is crucial to recovering the funds:

Register a formal complaint on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at https://cybercrime.gov.in.

Call the National Cyber Helpline number 1930 immediately.

You can also contact the Rajasthan Police Cyber Helpdesk at 9256001930 and 9257510100 for immediate assistance.

Jaipur: The Government of Rajasthan has launched a decisive and robust war against the consumption of tobacco and related products. Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma and the strategic guidance of Medical and Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khinvsar, the state is making monumental strides toward becoming tobacco-free.

Marking the occasion of ‘World No Tobacco Day’, a massive statewide enforcement and public awareness campaign was executed from May 22 to May 30, 2026, under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 (COTPA), setting new benchmarks in public health administration.

Strict Enforcement: 2,137 Challans Issued Statewide

Smt. Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, shared that the state is strictly implementing tobacco control laws. Driving a strong message of zero tolerance, drug control officers conducted extensive surprise inspections across the state. By May 29, 2026, a total of 2,137 challans were issued against violators of the COTPA provisions.

Jaipur topped the list with 290 challans, followed by Bharatpur (216), Jodhpur (202), Alwar (149), and Nagaur (130). Authorities heavily focused on enforcing the ban on smoking in public places, prohibiting the sale of tobacco products within a 100-yard radius of educational institutions, and clamping down on illegal tobacco advertisements.

Global Acclaim: WHO Honors Rajasthan

Rajasthan’s relentless and effective efforts have now resonated on a global platform. The World Health Organization (WHO) has honored the Rajasthan Medical and Health Department with the highly prestigious ‘World No Tobacco Day Award’ for 2026 in the South-East Asia region. This international accolade is a testament to the state’s expertise, authoritative policy implementation, and steadfast commitment to public health.

The Health Minister’s Appeal to the Youth

Highlighting this year’s WHO theme—“Unmasking the Appeal: Countering Nicotine and Tobacco Addiction”, Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khinvsar made a heartfelt appeal to the public, especially the youth. He urged young citizens to stay far away from the life-threatening addictions of tobacco, cigarettes, and hookahs. Emphasizing that a healthy life is the greatest wealth, he called upon the youth to become ambassadors of change and inspire others to quit addiction.

Drug Control Commissioner Dr. T. Shubhmangala added that alongside enforcement, large-scale awareness programs and oath-taking ceremonies were successfully organized across schools, colleges, and public offices.

Robust Infrastructure for De-addiction: 500+ Centers Active

The government is not just focusing on penalties; it is providing extensive medical support to those willing to quit:

Ayushman Arogya Mandirs: On May 31, special counseling sessions are being organized across all Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to assist tobacco users.

Free Treatment & NRT: More than 500 tobacco de-addiction and counseling centers are operating up to the block level. Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) has been added to the essential medicine list and is being provided free of cost up to the Community Health Centre (CHC) level.

Success in Numbers: Between December and April 2026, over 31,669 tobacco consumers were counseled, 9,584 patients received clinical treatment, and an impressive 1,541 individuals successfully quit tobacco consumption.

Taking the Campaign to the Grassroots

Director of Public Health, Dr. Ravi Prakash Sharma, noted that the campaign has successfully transformed into a grassroots mass movement. Indicators for a ‘Tobacco-Free School’ have been strictly implemented in over 83,000 educational institutions. Furthermore, under the Ayushman Adarsh Gram Yojana, 13,744 villages have passed official resolutions for effective tobacco control, and 32,380 prominent locals have been appointed as ‘Tobacco Monitors/Ambassadors’ to drive awareness deep into rural Rajasthan.
