Ensuring Student Safety: High-Tension Wires and Dilapidated Buildings

District Collector Akshay Godara took a tough stance on the safety of students in government schools. He reviewed the status of high-tension electricity lines passing over or near school premises and issued immediate orders to initiate their removal.

Furthermore, with the monsoon season approaching, the Collector directed Education Department officials to expedite the demolition of dilapidated buildings. He emphasized that certificates regarding already demolished structures must be submitted to the district headquarters promptly to ensure that no student is exposed to unsafe infrastructure.

NITI Aayog’s ₹3 Crore Incentive for Top Ranking

A major highlight of the meeting was the discussion on the ₹3 crore incentive awarded to Karauli by NITI Aayog. Under the Aspirational Districts and Blocks Program, Karauli secured the first rank in the education sector for its outstanding performance.

Chief District Education Officer (CDEO) Sarvesh Kumar Gupta explained that the district achieved this top ranking based on several key performance indicators (KPIs), including:

• Regular student attendance and improved Board examination results.
• Effective use of Activity-Based Learning (ABL) kits and homework quality.
• Availability of clean drinking water and functional toilets.
• Teacher participation on digital platforms and the “Mission Prarambh” initiative.

Health, Nutrition, and Logistics

The Collector also touched upon vital social and logistical issues:

• HPV Vaccination: He instructed officials to use video appeals and direct parent-teacher communication to raise awareness about the HPV vaccine for girl students.
• Mid-Day Meals: The District Supply Officer (DSO) was ordered to ensure the timely supply of rations for the Mid-Day Meal scheme to avoid any disruption in student nutrition.
