NMC Issues Strict Advisory

The NMC, in its official notice dated April 23, 2026, stated that medical colleges must remain vigilant during the NEET exam period. The directive is aimed at preventing any misuse or activities that could compromise the examination process.

The commission has clearly instructed that students should be sensitized and monitored to avoid any involvement in unfair practices during the exam period.

Government’s Concern Over Exam Integrity

The advisory comes after instructions from the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education. The ministry highlighted past incidents where some students were allegedly involved in activities affecting the sanctity of national-level entrance exams.

Officials emphasized that strict preventive measures are necessary to maintain transparency and fairness in NEET UG 2026.

Official Statement by NMC

In a letter addressed to Deans and Principals of all medical colleges, NMC Secretary Raghav Langer stated:

No leave should be granted on May 2 and May 3, 2026

Leave may be allowed only in exceptional and justified cases

The directive also includes a copy of the official communication from the Ministry of Education for strict implementation.
