• Push for Mushroom Farming: A statewide campaign will be launched to promote mushroom production at the cluster level, supported by comprehensive and high-quality training for farmers.

Making Farmers Self-Reliant Through Mushroom and Natural Farming

During his extensive tour, Agriculture Commissioner Naresh Kumar Goyal conducted a ground-level inspection of the ‘Mushroom Center of Excellence’ and various activities related to natural farming. He directed administrative officials to shift the focus from traditional farming to value addition, modern agricultural techniques, and commercial mushroom production. To achieve this, large-scale training camps will be organized from the divisional down to the district level, equipping farmers with the practical skills needed to significantly boost their per-acre income.

FFS Framework Enforced for Seamless Fertilizer Distribution

Taking a strict stance to resolve the hurdles farmers face while procuring fertilizers and seeds during the sowing season, the department is overhauling its distribution mechanism. In the review meeting, the Commissioner mandated the immediate implementation of the Farmers Fertilisers Framework (FFS) across all districts of the Udaipur division.

Scientific and Transparent Allocation: The enforcement of the FFS framework will guarantee that fertilizer distribution in the state is entirely transparent, scientific, and effective. This move is designed not only to curb black marketing but also to ensure that the required quantity of fertilizers reaches the actual farmers precisely when they need it.

Strengthening Agricultural Education and Digital Classrooms

To groom future scientists and experts in the agricultural domain, the foundational structure of agri-education is also being revamped. Mr. Goyal instructed that to maintain continuity and high standards in education, lecturers at all state agriculture colleges must conduct online classes using modern digital platforms. This initiative will ensure that students residing in remote areas receive regular and uninterrupted quality education.

Simultaneously, to align the state’s agricultural research and education with global standards, directives have been issued to draft an administrative blueprint for developing Pratap University on a PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model.

Concluding the meeting, the Agriculture Commissioner reiterated that the ultimate goal of the department is the time-bound and effective execution of government schemes. This ensures that new technologies and better services directly reach the last-mile farmer, ultimately transforming agriculture into a highly profitable and sustainable business.
