In his first IPL season, he maintained a strike rate of 206.55 and became the youngest IPL centurion by scoring 101 runs off 38 balls against the Gujarat Titans, setting the record for the second-fastest century in IPL history.

He broke Yusuf Pathan’s record for the fastest IPL century by an Indian. Vaibhav completed his century off 35 balls, while Yusuf had scored a century off 37 balls in 2010.

Vaibhav was included in the Indian Under-19 team for the Asia Cup.
