<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In a significant move to ensure accountability in healthcare, the Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, <strong>Mrs. Gayatri Rathore</strong>, conducted a surprise inspection of JK Lone and MBS Hospitals in Kota on Tuesday. Describing the recent maternal deaths in Kota as &#8220;deeply saddening,&#8221; she made it clear that strict punitive action will be taken against any personnel found negligent in providing treatment.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Strict Directives on High-Risk Pregnancy and Screening</strong></h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During the inspection of the labor rooms and wards at JK Lone Hospital, Mrs. Rathore emphasized the importance of <strong>Preventive Healthcare</strong>:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Regular Screening:</strong> She called for strengthening the screening mechanism to identify diseases in pregnant women and newborns at an early stage.</li>



<li><strong>Special Monitoring:</strong> For <strong>High-Risk Pregnancy (HRP)</strong> cases, doctors were instructed to strictly follow post-operative protocols and personally monitor the patient&#8217;s condition every hour.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Concerns Over Quality of Nursing Training</strong></h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Principal Secretary expressed serious displeasure over the lack of proficiency among nursing staff undergoing training at MBS College.</p>

<li><strong>Notice to Private College:</strong> Finding a lack of knowledge in basic medical procedures, she ordered an official notice to be issued to the concerned private nursing college.</li>



<li><strong>Strict Regulations:</strong> Nursing students must now work under the direct supervision of senior doctors. Experience certificates will not be issued until they achieve full proficiency.</li>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Divisional Meeting: Ensuring Accountability</strong></h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During a meeting with medical officers of the Kota division, the Principal Secretary delivered a message of <strong>Good Governance</strong>:</p>

<li><strong>Treatment Protocol:</strong> Principals and Superintendents of all medical colleges must ensure 100% compliance with established treatment protocols.</li>



<li><strong>Sensitivity:</strong> Doctors and nursing staff were instructed to maintain a humane and sensitive approach toward patients and their families.</li>



<li><strong>Adolescent Health:</strong> The CMHO was directed to focus on &#8216;Holistic Health&#8217; rather than limiting adolescent health programs merely to treatment.</li>
</ol>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Key Officials Present</strong></h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The inspection and meeting were attended by Kota District Collector <strong>Piyush Samariya</strong>, Director of Public Health <strong>Dr. Ravi Prakash Sharma</strong>, Medical College Principal <strong>Dr. Nilesh Jain</strong>, and JK Lone Superintendent <strong>Dr. Nirmala Sharma</strong>, among other senior officials.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Conclusion</strong></h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This visit by the Principal Secretary indicates that the State Government is now prioritizing &#8220;Quality of Care&#8221; and &#8220;Staff Skilling&#8221; alongside infrastructure. The directive for specialist doctors to monitor patients hourly in Kota hospitals is expected to significantly enhance patient safety.</p>
