Karauli, Rajasthan : The village development camp organized in the Amargarh tehsil under the Sapotra sub-division, within the jurisdiction of the land records inspector, is writing a new chapter of prosperity. During the camp, soil health cards were distributed to farmers in the area through the coordinated efforts of the agriculture department and the local administration.

These cards will prove crucial in reducing farming costs and increasing yields in the future. A farmer who received the card said that previously, they used fertilizers in their fields without any scientific basis, which not only increased costs but also affected the fertility of the land. The soil health card is not just a piece of paper, but a report card for the farmer’s land.

It will tell us which nutrients the soil needs, thus helping us avoid unnecessary expenses. This effort to bring government schemes directly to the farmers’ fields through the village development camp is commendable.

Surauth, Karauli. Under the ‘Save MNREGA’ campaign, Congress workers held a three-hour protest and sit-in demonstration at the Gandhi Memorial Ground in Surauth town on Wednesday, holding pictures of Mahatma Gandhi, against the central BJP government.

During this time, the Congress workers said that the central BJP government is weakening MNREGA by adopting anti-poor, anti-labor, and anti-farmer policies. The Congress workers said that the central BJP government has changed the name of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGA) and made several anti-people changes, which are completely unacceptable to the people of the country.

Pramod Tiwari, spokesperson for the Hindaun Dehat Block Congress Committee, said that the protest, which lasted from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, had Congress’s Hindaun Assembly in-charge Ravi Gurjar as the chief guest, and Hindaun Dehat Block Congress Committee President Yogendra Singh Mawai and District President of the Congress Women’s Wing Shardo Gurjar as special guests.

The protest was presided over by former District President and former Pradhan of Congress, Shivraj Meena. Addressing the protest, Congress’s Hindaun Assembly in-charge Ravi Gurjar said that the central government is ending the guarantee that was given during the Congress regime under the MNREGA scheme and is blacking out the scheme.

He added that previously, the central government contributed 100% of the funds for this scheme, but now the state government will have to bear 40% of the cost. We will not allow this arbitrary action of the central BJP government to continue. Therefore, this public awareness campaign, which started on January 3rd, will continue throughout the country and the state until January 29th.

Hindaun Dehat Block Congress Committee President Yogendra Singh Mawai said that the central government has destroyed the original form of MNREGA, which until now was a safety net for the lives of the poor. State Congress Committee Secretary Rajiv Shukla, former Pradhan Shivraj Meena,

and District President of the Congress Women’s Wing Shardo Gurjar said that these people have seized power through vote manipulation and are now changing names and shutting down welfare schemes, starting anti-people programs instead.

In the protest, State Congress Committee Secretary Rajiv Shukla, senior Congress leader Battu Member, Block Spokesperson Pramod Tiwari, Mohar Singh Saini, Vishram Meena, Ved Prakash Sharma, Dharam Singh Meena Patelpura, Hari Singh Subedar, Om Prakash Shukla, Kedar Meena, Purushottam Banshiwal, Kamlesh Mahawar,

Shyam Sundar Saini, Brijesh Bhardwaj, Rahul Meena, Rinku Meena, Jagdish Bhankar Dhandawali, Rampratap Parashar, Kalla Khan, Nawab Khan, Prem Raj Meena, Magan Meena, Atar Meena, Dilip Mahawar, Gaurav Singhal, Bhagwan Singh Bhukrawali, Manoj Mawai, Om Prakash Samadhiya, Rakesh Shukla, and a large number of other Congress office-bearers and workers were present.

During the protest, Congress workers from Surauth welcomed and honored Ravi Gurjar, the Congress in-charge for the Hindaun Assembly constituency, by presenting him with a sapling of wheat.

Karauli, Rajasthan – As part of the Women Workers Harassment-Free Workplace Awareness Campaign, run by the District Administration and ActionAid Association India, and under the guidance of ActionAid Regional Manager Sion Kingori, a Women’s Chaupal was organized in Mohanpura, Karauli, where women were informed about the provisions of the POSH Act and their rights.

ActionAid District Coordinator Dinesh Kumar Bairwa stated that the aim was to raise awareness among women workers about the POSH Act (Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013) and to encourage them to report harassment to the local complaints committee, the nearest police station, the National and State Commission for Women’s websites, and the She-Box portal, and to speak out against harassment.

The POSH Act is a law designed to protect women from sexual harassment at the workplace. This Act was passed in 2013 and aims to provide a safe working environment where women can work without fear of harassment.

The POSH Act clearly defines sexual harassment, including unwanted physical contact, demands for sexual favors, exposure to pornography, and any unwelcome behavior of a sexual nature. This Act protects women from sexual harassment at the workplace, allowing them to work in a safe and dignified environment.

He explained that women working in brick kilns, building construction, road construction, mining, sanitation, and domestic work are more likely to face workplace harassment. The Act provides procedures for filing complaints and redressal if contractors, employers, or other individuals harass women workers at the workplace. Women were encouraged to complain to internal and local complaints committees. They were also informed about their rights and related schemes.

Volunteer Jagdish Jat provided information about central and state government schemes, including those for the protection of women from domestic violence and dowry harassment. During the session, women shared their life experiences.

Karauli, situated on the eastern end of Rajasthan, is a city that presents a wonderful amalgamation of history, religion and nature. Its havelis, temples and palaces adorned with red sandstone not only attract architecture lovers, but also give the city a distinctive redness, which distinguishes it from other cities.

Architecture and historical heritage

The red stone used in the historical buildings of Karauli is not only a symbol of beauty but also of strength. The carvings and artistry of the monuments here present it like a living museum. Among these, City Palace is especially noteworthy, which was built by King Arjunpal in the 14th century. After this, King Gopal Singh expanded it in the eighteenth century. The mural art of the palace, carved windows and the city of Karauli visible from a height, mesmerize the visitors here.
