Rajasthan Agricultural Students Welfare Association State President Ramprem Meena submitted a memorandum to Agriculture and Horticulture Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena regarding this issue. In the memorandum, he explained that college classes typically begin in August, but this time October has already arrived, and no solution has been found regarding counseling. Furthermore, the session is expected to begin in November.

Why is the counseling process stalled?

Two main reasons have emerged for the delay in the counseling process—NOC and affiliation.

1. NOC: The state’s 112 agricultural colleges include government, private, and university-affiliated colleges. All these colleges are required to obtain a NOC (Non-Responsible Consent) every year, which they have not received this year.

2. Affiliation: Colleges are affiliated with the university. University teams visit colleges, but this process has not yet been completed in many colleges.

This time, the responsibility for counseling has been assigned to Bikaner Agricultural University. The exam was held on June 29th, and the results were declared in July, but no counseling steps have been taken yet. Students from colleges affiliated to the Agricultural University Kota, such as Baran, Kota, Bundi, Jhalawar, Karauli, and Sawai Madhopur, are waiting for their results.

Waiting for the Seat Matrix –

The seat matrix, crucial for the counseling process, has not yet been released. The seat matrix is issued by the government, which determines the number of seats available in each college. Without this information, the counseling process cannot proceed.

Commenting on the situation, Dr. Akhil Ranjan Garg, Vice Chancellor of Bikaner Agricultural University, stated that the process would be completed soon. However, some colleges have not yet received NOCs and the seat matrix has not been released.

The Raj Bhavan and the Agriculture Minister have been informed of the issue, but there has been no change in the counseling process. Agricultural students are now hoping for a quick solution to this problem so that their academic session can begin on time.
