Vigilance Team ‘A’, in close coordination with the Khona Goriyan Police Station, raided the Mach Ki Peepli area on Goner Road. Upon verifying unauthorized storage and commercial trading, the team confiscated 19 domestic gas cylinders. Following up on another lead in the Indira Gandhi Nagar area of Khatipura, the team caught an illegal refilling operation in progress, seizing 8 domestic cylinders, 2 electronic motors, and 2 electronic weighing scales. Action has been initiated against one individual in this regard.

Massive Recoveries from Bajrang Vihar and Rajiv Nagar

Vigilance Team ‘B’ targeted the Bajrang Vihar area on Goner Road, executing raids at two separate locations. From these spots, the team recovered a consolidated haul of 27 domestic gas cylinders, 3 electronic motors, 2 electronic scales, regulators, and specialized nozzles used for illegal gas transferring. Cases have been registered against two individuals at this hub. Meanwhile, Team ‘C’ raided a commercial shop (Shop No. 53) in Rajiv Nagar on Goner Road, seizing 19 domestic cylinders and 2 electronic motors after catching the operators red-handed. One person faces legal action in this case.

Crackdown on Local Service Outlets

Expanding the net, Vigilance Team ‘D’ conducted a surprise inspection at ‘Jyoti Gas Home Service’ located in the Goner Road area. The team seized 5 domestic gas cylinders along with illegal regulatory nozzles and pipes, registering a case against one individual involved in the malpractice.

‘Operation Pravartan’ to Continue Aggressively

District Supply Officer Priyavrat Singh Charan confirmed that the joint operation resulted in the total seizure of 78 gas cylinders, 7 electronic motors, 4 electronic weighing scales, and various illicit refilling tools. He stated that formal FIRs are being lodged against all 5 accused individuals. Warning black-marketeers of strict legal consequences, he emphasized that ‘Operation Pravartan’ will remain active across Jaipur. The department has also appealed to the public to immediately report any unauthorized gas storage or refilling to help ensure residential safety.

Police-Admin Coordination Vital for Field Success: DGP

Addressing the young IAS officers during the interaction, DGP Mr. Rajiv Kumar Sharma emphasized that robust and seamless coordination between the police and administration is indispensable for successful leadership in the field. He noted that the joint efforts of both departments are critical to maintaining a strong law and order framework.

During the visit, several senior police officers delivered insightful lectures on key operational areas:

• Joint Role at District Level: Director General of Police (Special Operations), Mr. Anand Kumar Shrivastava, discussed the crucial joint responsibility shared by the District Magistrate (DM) and the Superintendent of Police (SP) in maintaining peace and order at the district level.
• Rajasthan Police Framework: Additional Director General of Police (Personnel), Mr. Biju George Joseph, delivered a comprehensive presentation detailing the organizational structure, functioning, and administrative setup of the Rajasthan Police.

Insights on Road Safety, Anti-Narcotics, and Cyber Crime

The young officers were briefed on contemporary challenges, such as cyber crime and drug trafficking, along with practical strategies to counter them:

• Traffic Management: Director General of Police (Training and Traffic), Mr. Anil Paliwal, shared practical guidelines regarding the current road safety scenario in the state and highlighted the operational dynamics of the District Road Safety Committees.
• Curbing Narcotics: Inspector General of Police (Anti-Narcotics Task Force), Mr. Vikas Kumar, shed light on the vital role of the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) at the district level in dismantling drug trafficking networks.
• Cyber Security: Deputy Inspector General of Police (Cyber Crime), Mr. Shantanu Kumar Singh, apprised the probationers of emerging digital threats and cyber crimes. The delegation also visited the 1930 Cyber Control Room to witness live, rapid technical actions taken during financial fraud cases.
• Women and Child Safety: Deputy Inspector General of Police (Civil Rights), Ms. Shweta Dhankhar, briefed the officers on special schemes and legal rights initiatives run by the police for the protection of women, children, and vulnerable sections of society.

Live Demo of Smart Policing at Abhay Command Center

In the final leg of the visit, the IAS probationers visited the state-of-the-art ‘Abhay Command Center’ located at the Jaipur Commissionerate. Here, Jaipur Police Commissioner Mr. Sachin Mittal gave a live demonstration of digital surveillance, CCTV monitoring, e-challan systems, and emergency response mechanisms, introducing the officers to modern smart policing models.

Among the ME offices, Jaipur has the highest number of actions (over 65), followed by Bhilwara (61), Ajmer (36), Pali (32), Beawar (28), and Udaipur and Tonk (23 each). Action is ongoing in all the districts involved in the campaign.

Principal Secretary Mines, Mr. T. Ravikant, reviewed the progress of the campaign at the Secretariat on Monday. He stated that no laxity in action against illegal mining activities would be tolerated. He directed officials to be more proactive in the field.During the campaign, Jaipur’s ME, Mr. Shyam Kapri, in the team led by Superintendent Mining Engineer, Jaipur, Mr. NS Shaktawat, conducted the highest number of operations, with 65 actions and filed 8 FIRs.

The Jaipur team seized 2 excavators and 68 vehicles. During the illegal operations in Jaipur, more than ₹50 lakh was recovered and deposited in the treasury. ME Alwar, Mr. Manoj Kumar, conducted 34 operations, seized 2 excavators and 21 vehicles, registered 14 FIRs, and arrested 10 people. Actions were also taken in Kotputli and Behror. Tonk recorded the highest number of FIRs, with 17.

Under the guidance of Bhilwara SME, Mr. OP Kabra, Bhilwara Mining Engineer, Mr. Mahesh Sharma, conducted 61 operations, seizing 3 excavators and 63 vehicles. A fine of ₹2.6 million was collected, along with 339 tons of minerals seized. Actions are also ongoing in other areas of the zone.Under the guidance of Jodhpur SME, Mr. Devendra Gaur, Pali Sojat ME, Mr. Vineet Kumar, conducted 32 operations, seizing 3 excavators and 27 vehicles.

Under the guidance of Ajmer SME, Mr. Jai Gurubakhsani, Ajmer ME, Mr. Kumawat, conducted 34 operations, seizing 29 vehicles. Nagaur ME, Mr. Jai Godara, conducted 17 operations.

Bharatpur ME, Mr. KC Goyal, conducted 12 operations, seizing 10,949 tons of minerals. Actions against illegal mining activities are ongoing in all identified districts. At the headquarters level, coordination is being provided by Additional Director, Dr. Dharmendra Lohar.

Accused Wanted in Multiple Cases Since 2024:
According to DCP (South) Digant Anand, Mujjamil, a resident of Yadav Chowk, Hasanpura Sadar, had formed the “Killer Gang” with over a dozen associates. In July 2024, the gang attacked a hotel in the Vidhayakpuri area, and in September 2024, they were involved in a gang clash on MI Road where a car was set on fire. He had been absconding for nearly nine months.

Terror and Extortion were the Gang’s Modus Operandi:
The gang’s core purpose was to create fear and collect illegal money from hotels and local businesses under threat. The gang operated openly in parts of Jaipur, leveraging intimidation as their primary tactic.

Mujjamil is a History-Sheeter:
Police records reveal that Mujjamil has more than a dozen criminal cases registered in various police stations across Jaipur city. He is listed as a history-sheeter and is now being interrogated to trace other gang members.
