At the age of 14, Shaili took a significant turn in her athletics career when she joined the Anju Bobby George Sports Foundation in Bengaluru for training. There, she came under the mentorship of India’s former Olympian and long jump legend Anju Bobby George and her coach husband Robert Bobby George. This duo left no stone unturned in honing Shaili’s talent.Anju Bobby George believes that Shaili has an exceptional jumping ability and may soon break her long-standing national record, which has remained unbeaten for the past 14 years.

National Records and the Shine of Gold Medals

Shaili proved her talent in 2018 by setting a national record with a 5.94-meter jump in the Junior National Athletics Championship (Under-16 category) held in Ranchi, winning a gold medal.A year later, in 2019, she again won a gold medal by jumping 6.15 meters at the National Athletics Championship held in Guntur (Andhra Pradesh), breaking her own record. This achievement stands as a testament to her consistent improvement and hard work.

Among the Top 20 Junior Athletes in the World

Shaili Singh has made a name not only in India but also on the global stage. She is counted among the top 20 long jump athletes in the under-18 category worldwide, indicating a bright future ahead for her.
