<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Holiday 25 November &#8211;</strong> Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Saturday that Tuesday, November 25th, will be a public holiday in Delhi. This day is observed to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">According to an official release from the Chief Minister&#8217;s Office, the decision aims to provide citizens with an opportunity to pay tribute to Guru Sahib&#8217;s supreme sacrifice, spiritual teachings, and unwavering dedication to protecting religious freedom.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Sacrifice and Significance of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was the ninth Guru of the Sikhs. In 1675, he was martyred in Delhi on the orders of Aurangzeb for refusing to convert to Islam. His life is considered a symbol of courage and perseverance in the face of tyranny, religious persecution, and injustice.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “Guru Sahib sacrificed his life to protect India&#8217;s religious freedom. His message is that truth and righteousness must be protected at any cost.”</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Chief Minister said that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was not only a revered Sikh Guru, but also a <strong>guardian of universal values</strong>. His life will always inspire us to build a just, peaceful, and egalitarian society.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Government Appeal and Message to Citizens</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Chief Minister appealed to all citizens to celebrate this day with a spirit of reverence, unity, and service and to adopt Guru Sahib&#8217;s teachings in their lives. She said that this holiday is not just a formality, but a symbol of the Delhi Government&#8217;s respect for Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji&#8217;s sacrifice.</p>
