Gowri’s real name is Siji Mathews and she is a native of Kanjirapally in Kerala. Hailing from a Christian family, Siji was once working as a nurse in Kuwait. But in search of her passion, she changed the direction of her life. During this time, she got a chance to work in a film, where her character was known as “Gowri” – and from here she took her new identity name: Gowri Siji Mathews.

Gowri has to face criticism on social media for her bold looks and outspoken style. Some trolls try to insult her by saying things like “working as a daily wage laborer in MNREGA”. But Gowri’s answer is clear.”

She further said that she is not affected by the thoughts of others and comments on social media. She believes that everyone has the right to live the life of their choice.
