The Government of Rajasthan has reaffirmed its institutional commitment to driving the socio-economic and educational advancement of the state’s De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-nomadic tribes. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma hosted an extensive delegation representing the Gadaria, Gadri, Gayari, Dhangar, Pal, and Baghel communities at the Chief Minister’s Residence on Sunday, May 17, 2026. During the session, the Chief Minister emphasized that empowering women, educating youth, ensuring prosperous farming households, and eradicating deep-seated social evils form the foundational pillars of the state’s comprehensive development.

Marking the occasion, the Chief Minister also officially unveiled the commemorative poster for the upcoming state-level celebration honoring the 301st birth anniversary of Punyashlok Ahilya Bai Holkar, a historical symbol of women’s empowerment and visionary governance.

Bridging a Glorious Heritage with Modern Agricultural Excellence

Addressing the community representatives, the Chief Minister highlighted that the De-notified, Nomadic, and Semi-nomadic tribes are repositories of a proud history, filled with acts of valor, loyalty, and rich cultural traditions. He specifically invoked the historic Battle of Khanwa, recalling the indomitable courage and unwavering allegiance displayed by Veer Singh Baghel alongside Rana Sanga against foreign invaders.

The Chief Minister urged the youth and farmers of the community to preserve their hereditary agricultural and animal husbandry roots while actively adopting modern scientific techniques. To preserve soil fertility and ensure long-term sustainability, he placed special emphasis on reducing the indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers and shifting toward organic farming methodologies.

The Chief Minister’s Message to the Youth: “Today, driven by access to quality education, our nomadic communities are breaking barriers and carving a niche for themselves in administrative services, politics, the armed forces, information technology, and corporate sectors. While climbing new heights, the youth must stay anchored in the values of their ancestors and stay entirely clear of substance abuse. Focus your energies on higher education and nation-building; our administration stands fully prepared to extend every possible resource to support your ambitions.”

Enhancement of Direct Farmer Subsidies: The annual allocation under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi has been raised from ₹6,000 to ₹9,000 within the state.
Power Infrastructure and Mobile Healthcare: To facilitate seamless farming operations, daytime power supply has been successfully implemented across 26 districts. Furthermore, the ‘1962’ mobile veterinary service network is fully operational, providing free, on-site medical care for livestock.

Dairy Sector and Milk Producer Incentives: To bolster dairy livelihoods, the state has operationalized 2,185 new milk producer cooperative societies and collection centers. Under the ‘Chief Minister Milk Producer Sambhal Yojana’, financial subsidies totaling ₹1,383 crore have been disbursed directly into the bank accounts of nearly 500,000 dairy farmers.

Social Security and Interest-Free Credit: Through the ‘Saras Mayra Yojana’, a direct cash assistance of ₹21,000 is provided to milk-producing families for their daughters’ marriages. Concurrently, under the ‘Rajasthan Cooperative Gopal Credit Card Scheme’, interest-free loans worth ₹709 crore have been sanctioned to 94,000 livestock-rearing households. Additionally, the ‘Chief Minister Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana’ has registered over 2 million cattle across 900,000 households to provide comprehensive insurance safety nets against livestock mortality.

Tonk/Jaipur | May 12, 2026

Public Health Engineering Minister Issues Directions for Strengthening Water Supply

As part of the Gram Rath Campaign, the Minister for Public Health Engineering (PHED), Mr. Kanhiya Lal Choudhary, conducted a Night Chaupal (Village Gathering) in Chainpura village, located in the Malpura constituency of Tonk district. A large number of villagers attended the session to share their concerns and suggestions directly with the Minister.

Strict Directives on Water Supply Amid Heatwave

Given the intense summer heat, the PHED Minister issued firm instructions to departmental officials to ensure a robust water supply system:

Monitoring Illegal Connections: The Minister directed officials to maintain strict vigilance against unauthorized water connections to ensure uninterrupted and smooth drinking water supply for the general public.

Infrastructure Strengthening: He ordered officials to prioritize the maintenance and strengthening of the water supply network across rural blocks.

Empowering Farmers and Enhancing Income

Minister Choudhary highlighted the state and central government’s commitment to the “Antyodaya” vision—uplifting the last person in the queue. Key highlights for the agricultural sector included:

Kisan Samman Nidhi: The annual financial assistance for farmers has been increased from ₹6,000 to ₹9,000. More than ₹12,000 crore has been transferred directly into the accounts of over 76 lakh farmers in the state.

Interest-Free Loans: Under the Rajasthan Cooperative Gopal Credit Card Scheme, farmers are now eligible for interest-free loans up to ₹1 lakh.

Agricultural Ecosystem: The Minister noted that initiatives like ‘GRAM-2026′ are being organized to create a stronger ecosystem to double farmers’ income and provide better crop insurance claim processing.

Administrative Coordination

The public hearing was attended by Tonk District Collector Tina Dabi and CEO Parshuram Dhanka. Villagers raised issues concerning electricity, education, health, and other basic infrastructure. Minister Choudhary assured that the state government is committed to taking development to every doorstep and that the Gram Rath Campaign is a vital bridge for this mission.

Conclusion

The Night Chaupal in Chainpura served as a proactive platform for grassroots governance. By addressing immediate needs like drinking water and promoting long-term financial schemes like interest-free loans, the government aims to ensure both the survival and prosperity of the rural population during the harsh summer months.
