Gangapur City: The transition into college life and the lengthy paperwork of the admission process can often be a daunting experience for new students. To ease the burden of technical and practical formalities, particularly document verification, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) took a highly commendable step at the Government College in Gangapur City, Rajasthan.

Aiming to pave a smoother path for incoming freshers, the local ABVP unit organized a special ‘Help Desk’ camp on the college campus.

Seamless Guidance During Document Verification

The primary objective of this assistance camp was to simplify the form-filling and document-checking procedures for newly enrolled students. Often, freshers face confusion and anxiety due to a lack of accurate information regarding official requirements.

During the camp, ABVP volunteers meticulously examined the students’ documents one by one, guided them through the correct procedural steps, and resolved various technical glitches on the spot. This proactive guidance provided massive relief to hundreds of students waiting in long admission queues.

Campaign Led by Key Office Bearers

This student assistance camp was organized under the efficient leadership of ABVP District Convener Abhishek Sonwal. Throughout the day, several prominent office bearers and active members of the organization stood at the forefront to extend their support to the youth.

Key members present at the camp included:

Payal Prajapat: District Girl Student Head

Manoj Saini: State Executive Member

Gaurav Shakya: Division Convener

Sumit Verma and Riya Agarwal: Active workers and other unit members.

Initiative Applauded by Students and Parents

The noble service and positive initiative undertaken by the ABVP received immense appreciation from the newly admitted students as well as their parents. Guardians present at the venue highlighted that such help desks are particularly beneficial for students traveling from far-flung rural areas, as they save valuable time, prevent multiple trips to the college, and significantly reduce mental stress during the admission rush.

It has been published for public awareness and to assist the student community. Our objective is to deliver accurate, factual, and unbiased information to our readers.

Gangapur City, Sawai Madhopur : The discovery of the bodies of three innocent children under suspicious circumstances on the banks of a pond in Meena Baroda village, Wazirpur subdivision, near Gangapur City, on Friday created a sensation in the area. Upon receiving information about the incident, Wazirpur police station arrived at the scene and deposited the three bodies in the mortuary at the Community Health Center, Wazirpur.

According to reports, the mother of the deceased children, Sangeeta Meena, a resident of Meena Baroda, is missing. Her parents’ home is reported to be in Alampur, Karauli district. Family members informed the police and media that the bodies of Sangeeta’s three children were found near the village pond, while Sangeeta has remained unaccounted for.

Shockingly, despite the children’s bodies being kept at the hospital, neither the children’s father nor anyone from her in-laws’ side was found. Family members allege that Sangeeta was married to Praveen Meena, a resident of Meena Baroda, about seven years ago. Since their marriage, she has been subjected to harassment and frequent assaults by her in-laws.

Family members said that on Thursday evening, Sangeeta posted a video on social media, naming several individuals and making serious allegations of assault and torture.

She has been missing since then. The deceased children include Divya (5 years old), Bharti (3 years old), and Deepak (1.5 years old). Police are searching for the woman and investigating the entire case thoroughly. The situation will only become clear after the post-mortem report and investigation.

Gangapur City:The police have arrested retired Rajasthan Police constable Girvar Prasad, who cheated 6 lakh rupees by promising government jobs. On his arrest, the Superintendent of Police of Sawai Madhopur had announced a reward of 2,000 rupees. The police caught him from Riddhi-Siddhi Circle in Gangapur City.

The complainant, Deepak Mehra, resident of Nasia Colony, Gangapur City, had filed a report at Udaimod police station. He stated that the accused Girvar Prasad was a constable at Wazirpur police station in 2022. He used to often visit Deepak’s father’s tea shop located at the agricultural produce market. That’s where they became acquainted. In March 2022, Girvar Prasad told Deepak’s father that there was a recruitment for constables in Rajasthan Police. He said if they wanted to get Deepak a job, they would have to pay 8 lakh rupees—6 lakh rupees upfront and 2 lakh after the job was secured.

Deepak’s father trusted him and paid 6 lakh rupees in cash in March 2022. It was agreed that if the job did not come through, the money would be returned within a month with interest. Deepak had recorded the entire transaction on video. When the job was not given at the promised time, Deepak asked for the money back, but the accused kept delaying. Eventually, Deepak filed a case through the court.

A case was registered at Udaimod police station under IPC sections 318(4), 316(2), 338, 336(3), 336(4), and 340(1). The investigation was conducted by Assistant Sub-Inspector Kamal Prasad. The video CD was seized. During the investigation, the cheating case against Girvar Prasad was proven. The accused had taken voluntary retirement and absconded. A reward had been announced for his arrest.

Based on an informant’s tip, he was caught on July 8, 2025, from Riddhi-Siddhi Circle and brought to the police station. The interrogation regarding the money transactions with the accused is ongoing. He was presented in court today.

The arrested accused Girvar Prasad, son of Joharilal, aged 54 years, is a resident of Khati Mohalla, Bamanwas Patti Khurd, Police Station Bamanwas, District Sawai Madhopur. The arrest was made by Assistant Sub-Inspector Kamal Prasad, Constables Mukesh Kumar, Ravi Kumar, and Dilip Singh.

Sawai Madhopur, June 24, 2025: As part of the ongoing anti-corruption campaign in Rajasthan, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) carried out a major operation today, arresting Jai Sharma, Senior Assistant at the Gangapur City Tehsil Office, and advocate Hariprasad alias Sonu while they were caught red-handed accepting a bribe of ₹75,000.

Confirming the operation, ACB Director General of Police Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda stated that the Sawai Madhopur ACB unit had received a written complaint from the complainant. According to the complaint, officials at the Tehsil office were demanding a bribe of ₹1 lakh in exchange for registering agricultural land purchased by the complainant in the village of Chuli.

To verify the allegation, a confidential verification was conducted on June 13, 2025. The investigation confirmed that Senior Assistant Jai Sharma, through advocate Hariprasad alias Sonu, demanded ₹1 lakh in bribes on behalf of the Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar, Patwari, Jai Sharma himself, and Sonu. After negotiation, the bribe amount was reduced to ₹75,000.

On June 23, 2025, the ACB team laid a trap, during which advocate Sonu was caught red-handed accepting ₹75,000 from the complainant in the Power House area of Gangapur City. The full bribe amount was recovered from the shirt pocket worn by Sonu. Following this, Jai Sharma was taken into custody from the Gangapur City Tehsil office.

This entire operation was supervised by Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajesh Singh of the ACB Bharatpur Range, while the operation was led by Additional Superintendent of Police Gyan Singh Chaudhary of the Sawai Madhopur ACB unit. Interrogation and further legal proceedings are being conducted under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police, Mrs. Smita Srivastava.

ACB officials stated that the roles of the Tehsildar and other revenue department officials appear to be suspicious and will be thoroughly investigated. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further legal action is underway.
