Jaipur. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is fully geared up to tackle any potential emergencies, including heavy rainfall, waterlogging, and floods, during the upcoming monsoon season. In a major step to ensure the safety of the citizens and minimize disaster risks, a total of 70 highly trained rescue teams, drawn from various SDRF companies, were dispatched to 35 flood-prone and sensitive districts on June 25.

During a special event held at the SDRF Control Room in Jaipur, State Disaster Response Force Commandant Mr. Rajendra Singh Sisodia flagged off these teams to their respective destinations. The teams taking charge in districts outside Jaipur were dispatched with full preparations from their respective company headquarters by the company incharges.

Equipped with Modern Gadgets on the Ground

Commandant Rajendra Singh Sisodia stated that saving citizens’ lives during flood-like situations caused by excessive rainfall or sudden massive water discharge from dams and rivers is the utmost priority of the SDRF. Keeping this in mind, all 70 rescue teams have been equipped with highly modern and high-capacity rescue equipment.

These teams are carrying the following life-saving resources for emergencies:

Water Transport & Rescue: Modern motorboats for rapid movement in flood-affected and submerged areas.

Personal Protective Equipment: Large quantities of life jackets and life buoys to save drowning individuals.

Deep Water Search: ‘Deep diving’ equipment for executing rescue operations in rivers or heavily waterlogged areas.

Search & Communication: Advanced search-and-rescue tools and modern communication devices to handle network failures during a disaster.

Upon reaching the ground, these teams will establish strong coordination with the local district administration, Rajasthan Police, medical department, civil defense, and local volunteer agencies to ensure immediate relief operations without any delay as soon as an alert is received.

Stellar Track Record: 1,237 Lives Saved Last Year

Sharing the SDRF’s impressive service history and details of last year’s successful campaigns, the Commandant noted that the force’s track record has been highly inspiring. Despite adverse conditions during last year’s monsoon season (from June 21, 2025, to October 11, 2025), SDRF personnel conducted 333 successful rescue operations across the state. Through these operations, a total of 1,237 citizens were safely evacuated and given a new lease on life.

This time as well, strict instructions have been issued to all teams to maintain full vigilance before the monsoon hits and to conduct rescue operations with extreme caution and efficiency, strictly adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

District-Wise Deployment: Check How Many Teams in Your District

According to the official list released by the SDRF Headquarters, strategic deployment of the teams has been planned based on the geographical landscape and water sensitivity of the state. Given their history of urban flooding and waterlogging, maximum vigilance is being maintained in the state capital, Jaipur, and the Bharatpur division.

The table below illustrates the number of teams deployed for the safety of specific districts or regions:

Number of Rescue Teams Deployed

Corresponding District / Region

08 Teams (Maximum)

Jaipur Commissionerate

07 Teams

Bharatpur District

06 Teams

Kota District (Hadauti Region)

03 Teams Each

Udaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, and Jodhpur

02 Teams Each

Jaipur Rural, Tonk, Bhilwara, Baran, Jhalawar, Dholpur, Karauli, and Sawai Madhopur

01 Team Each

Dausa, Alwar, Dungarpur, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Banswara, Bundi, Salumbar, Beawar, Nagaur, Didwana-Kuchaman, Barmer, Balotra, Jalore, Phalodi, Sirohi, Pali, Churu, Hanumangarh, and Sri Ganganagar

All 70 teams stationed across these 35 identified sensitive districts have been instructed to remain on a ’round-the-clock’ (24-hour) high-alert mode so that the safety net is fully activated with the very first heavy downpour of the monsoon.
