Jaipur. To enforce strict discipline and ensure absolute road safety, the Rajasthan Police’s special traffic enforcement campaign is operating at full throttle across the state. Following firm directives from Director General of Police (DGP) Mr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, traffic and district police teams are actively manning the streets. This is being considered the most extensive crackdown on traffic rule violators in recent history.

The mega-campaign is being directly supervised by Director General (Traffic) Mr. Anil Paliwal, whose constant monitoring has resulted in unprecedented enforcement actions across the state.

21-Day Report Card: Over 1.65 Lakh Challans

Additional Director General of Police (Traffic), Dr. B.L. Meena, stated that according to the consolidated data, a massive 1,65,745 vehicles have been penalized statewide in just 21 days, between June 4 and June 24.

Breakdown of Actions Taken (June 4 to June 24):

Type of Traffic Violation

Number of Challans Issued

Black Film on Vehicle Windows

61,506

Illegal/Defective Number Plates

42,045

Unauthorized Words, Signs, and Writings

23,141

Illegal Structural Changes (Body/Chassis)

17,206

Unauthorized Red-Blue Beacons, Flashers & Hooters

12,987

Pressure Horns and Air Horns

8,860

Single-Day Action: 7,228 Challans Issued on Wednesday

Focusing on just Wednesday, June 24, a total of 7,228 challans were issued across the state in a single day. This included 2,541 challans for black films, 1,678 for defective number plates, 1,016 for illegal structural changes, 872 for unauthorized signs/words, 763 for unauthorized beacons/hooters, and 358 for pressure horns.

District-Wise Impact: Ajmer and Jaipur Lead the Crackdown

The enforcement drive is not limited to the capital but is being stringently applied across all districts. The single-day figures for Wednesday highlight the statewide scope:

Ajmer: The district police were highly active, recording the highest single-day actions with 771 challans.

Sikar: Action was taken against 623 vehicles.

Jaipur Commissionerate: Across its five zones (Traffic, East, West, North, South), a total of 800 actions were taken (Jaipur West topped with 421 challans).

Jaipur Rural: 344 vehicles were seized or penalized for rule violations.

Other Districts: Kota City registered 287 challans, Chittorgarh 263, and Jalore 233.

Police Appeal: Road Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility

The Rajasthan Police has made a strong appeal to the public to strictly obey traffic regulations. Citizens are advised not to make illegal modifications to their vehicles, strictly avoid the use of black films, pressure horns, and unauthorized hooters/flashers, and use only standard, authorized number plates. The police administration firmly believes that road safety cannot be ensured by enforcement alone; it requires the active awareness and responsibility of citizens. This mega-campaign against those compromising road safety will continue relentlessly across the state.

Jaipur. In a highly sensitive and significant decision aimed at strengthening the law enforcement infrastructure and ensuring personnel welfare, Rajasthan Chief Minister Mr. Bhajanlal Sharma has approved the historic restructuring of the Rajasthan Police technical cadre. By sanctioning 403 new high-level promotional posts, the state government has cleared the path for long-stagnant promotions across the driver, cavalry (mounted), and band branches.

This landmark decision marks the time-bound implementation of the State Budget 2026-27 announcement. Following the Chief Minister’s approval, the Home Department has officially issued the compliance orders, effectively boosting the morale of thousands of personnel who had been facing career stagnation for decades.

Decades of Stagnation: Addressing Disparities in the Force

Until now, promotion avenues within the police technical cadre—comprising Civil Police drivers, Intelligence Bureau (IB) drivers, Telecommunications, RAC/MBC drivers, Civil Mounted Police, and Civil/RAC/MBC bands—were extremely restricted.

This structural anomaly forced constables recruited under the technical wings to serve in the exact same rank for their entire career. While a general civil police constable recruited in the same year would steadily rise through the ranks to become an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), their technical cadre counterpart would often retire as a constable. This departmental disparity caused widespread discontent and low morale, a critical issue that this newly approved cadre restructuring completely resolves.

Detailed Post Breakdown: Where the 403 High-Level Posts Are Added

To streamline the promotion ladder and mirror the career progression found in the civil cadre, the state government has converted existing vacancies into higher operational ranks. The specific branch-wise distribution is as follows:

1. Driver Cadre (331 Posts)

The driver branch receives the highest share of the restructuring layout with 331 upgraded positions:

Police Inspector / Company Commander (Inspector/C.C): 16 new posts have been added, raising the total strength from 17 to 33.

Sub-Inspector / Platoon Commander (SI/P.C): 62 new posts have been sanctioned, increasing the pool from 108 to 170.

Head Constable: To strengthen the foundational tier of promotion, 253 new posts have been created, expanding the total from 1,046 to 1,299.

2. Band Cadre (69 Posts)

The Civil Band and RAC/MBC Band wings have collectively gained 69 high-level posts:

Sub-Inspector / Platoon Commander (SI/P.C): 17 new posts have been added for bandmasters and supervisors, raising the count from 10 to 27.

Head Constable: 52 new positions have been introduced, elevating the total from 141 to 193.

3. Cavalry / Mounted Police (3 Posts)

The specialized Civil Mounted Police wing has also received calculated promotional relief:

Sub-Inspector / Platoon Commander (SI/P.C): 3 high-level posts have been added, structurally expanding the rank capacity from just 1 to 4.

DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma’s Initiatives Bear Fruit

The driving force behind this administrative reform was the proactive intervention of Rajasthan’s Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma. Recognizing the genuine grievances of the technical staff, the DGP initiated a comprehensive cadre restructuring proposal and submitted it to the state government.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma acknowledged the structural necessity of the proposal and formalized it as an official policy during the presentation of the State Budget 2026-27. The immediate issuance of orders by the Home Department underscores the government’s swift administrative efficiency.

Elevating Morale and Efficiency

Expressing his gratitude regarding the decision, DGP Mr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma stated, “Our team is continuously working to make the Rajasthan Police force modern, technically proficient, and structurally sound. This restructuring of the technical cadre is a monumental step in that direction. When personnel receive timely promotions, their commitment and morale skyrocket. This will directly improve operational efficiency and the overall quality of public service across our technical branches. Moving forward, we will continue to prioritize employee welfare and organizational reforms.”

Conclusion

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma’s decisive step goes beyond mere numbers; it directly impacts the lives and livelihoods of thousands of police families who have waited years for structural justice. By aligning the technical cadre’s career trajectory with the civil police force, the state government has ensured that the internal machinery of the Rajasthan Police emerges more unified, motivated, and structurally resilient.

Jaipur. The Rajasthan government is taking decisive steps to make the state’s criminal justice system more robust, transparent, and technology-driven. In line with this objective, a crucial meeting regarding the effective implementation of the Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS) 2.0 project was held at the State Secretariat.

On Monday, a high-level committee meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Mr. V. Srinivas engaged in detailed discussions to bring the project to fruition on the ground. Describing this initiative as a milestone for the judicial system, the Chief Secretary instructed officials to ensure that there is no shortage of essential resources for its operation.

He clarified that the primary goal of integrating this technology is to provide swift and effective benefits to the general public and the judicial framework. Therefore, the timely provision of necessary resources must be ensured so that the system functions smoothly and efficiently.

Review of the Nyaya Sanhita Dashboard and Scorecard

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary closely evaluated Rajasthan’s scorecard on the Nyaya Sanhita Dashboard. While brainstorming over the state’s progress report and the data available on the dashboard, he directed officials to conduct regular monitoring. Continuous oversight is essential to improve the state’s performance and eliminate any existing gaps in the system.

Emphasis on Active Helpdesk and Coordination

To resolve technical and practical bottlenecks hindering the smooth operation of the scheme, the Chief Secretary issued directives to make the State Level Integrated Helpdesk more active and responsive. He emphasized that any problems arising during the project’s rollout must be addressed and resolved immediately.

Furthermore, a comprehensive roadmap was laid out regarding technical requirements, future action plans, and mutual coordination among various departments. Mr. Srinivas urged all relevant departments to work collaboratively and review their tasks on a regular basis.

Key Officials in Attendance

Several senior state officials participated in this important meeting. Prominent attendees included Director General of Police Mr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Director General (Prisons) Mr. Ashok Kumar Rathore, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Mr. Bhaskar A. Sawant, and Principal Secretary of the Finance Department Mr. Vaibhav Galriya, along with other departmental representatives.

Conclusion

The Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS) 2.0 is a major initiative aimed at establishing seamless digital coordination among the police, prisons, and courts. This high-level review meeting clearly indicates the state government’s serious commitment to the project, which is set to bring unprecedented speed and transparency to Rajasthan’s criminal justice system once fully implemented.
