In September of this year, the US attacked boats in the Caribbean three times. The first attack occurred on September 2, killing 11 people. The second attack occurred on September 16, killing three people. The third attack occurred last Friday, killing another three people. US officials say the boats departed from Venezuela and were carrying drugs, but there has been no concrete confirmation of this claim.

Petro accused the Trump administration of justifying these attacks in the name of stopping drug trafficking, when in reality they point to a larger political and humanitarian issue.
