MLC Kavitha requested Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to call the state Chief Minister and urge him to take immediate action on this issue. She said,

“Local body elections are approaching, and justice must be done to the OBC community. Our only demand is that 42% reservation be implemented immediately.”

Kavitha also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to support the OBC community of Telangana. She said,

“PM Modi himself comes from the OBC community, so he should openly support this issue.”

This demand for reservation in the state is seen not only as a significant step towards social justice but could also influence the upcoming local body elections. BRS’s initiative now appears to be becoming part of a national debate.
