New Delhi: A major controversy currently circulating on social media and news channels is the one between Anjana Om Kashyap and popular teachers teaching on YouTube. This controversy has intensified amid the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, sparking intense debate among students, parents, and the teaching community.

Star of the Controversy

Senior journalist and Aaj Tak anchor Anjana Om Kashyap recently launched a scathing attack on some “star teachers” active on YouTube during a program. She stated that these teachers lack depth in the subject matter or adequate academic qualifications, yet they are reaching millions of students through attractive thumbnails, sensational language, and misleading claims. Calling them “worthless,” Anjana alleged that these teachers teach primarily for money and exploit students.

This statement came amid growing questions about the NEET paper leak and the examination system, with many YouTube teachers openly criticizing the government and examination agencies in favor of students.

YouTube Teachers Counterattack

Anjana’s statement sparked a swift reaction from the YouTube teaching community.

Khan Sir, taking aim at Anjana, said that those who are providing affordable and accessible education to millions of rural and middle-class students should not be insulted in this manner.

Abhinay Sir (Abhinay Maths) and other teachers accused the TV media of “godi journalism” and TRP politics. They asked why the media was attacking YouTube teachers when serious issues like paper leaks were present.

Many teachers also said that YouTube had democratized education after the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, only wealthy students could study at expensive coaching institutes; now, millions of students are preparing for exams like SSC, Bank, Railway, Police, and NEET-JEE through mobile phones.

TV media itself is grappling with a credibility crisis. YouTube teachers have made education accessible and affordable. When the government examination system is plagued by paper leaks, irregularities, and other problems, these teachers are becoming the voice of students. Calling the entire teaching community “worthless” is unfair and insulting.

This controversy isn’t limited to individual comments. It has become a symbol of the battle between traditional media and digital education. YouTube has undoubtedly made education available on a large scale, but it also lacks quality control, accurate information, and ethical responsibility. Meanwhile, mainstream media is also losing credibility in the race for TRPs and breaking news.

Currently, this controversy is spreading rapidly on social media, with a flurry of memes, videos, and counter-allegations.
