The ambitious project, estimated to cost Rs 5.13 crore, is designed to enhance the natural aesthetics of the area while creating fresh employment opportunities for the local population through increased tourism activities.

Addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony, the Assembly Speaker expressed confidence that the revitalized lake will soon become a prime attraction for both domestic and international tourists. He emphasized that the state government is working swiftly to establish Ajmer as an ideal tourist destination with multiple new centers of attraction.

Major Upgrades Planned for Chaurasiyawas Pond

According to the administrative blueprint, all illegal encroachments from the catchment area of the Chaurasiyawas pond will be entirely removed. To facilitate visitors, a modern pathway, a lush garden, and highly attractive lighting systems will be installed.

Furthermore, the project includes the repair of the embankment (paal), construction of water channels and parking facilities, building a retaining wall with chain-link fencing, dense tree plantation, and the installation of decorative poles. Crucially, repairing the pond’s waste weir will increase its water retention capacity, which in turn will positively impact the groundwater levels in the surrounding areas.

Ongoing Developments at Ana Sagar and Varun Sagar

Mr. Devnani highlighted that significant infrastructure, including an 8.5-kilometer-long pathway, a chaupati, and boating facilities, has already been developed at Ajmer’s famous Ana Sagar Lake, drawing large crowds of tourists.

Following a similar model, a pathway and a massive public park are currently under rapid construction around the Varun Sagar Lake. A grand statue of the deity Varun Dev will be installed here, alongside the construction of a beautiful ghat, providing visitors with a serene spot to spend their day.

Rs 20 Crore for Taragarh Fort and New Leopard Safari

To highlight Ajmer’s rich historical legacy, Chief Minister Mr. Bhajanlal Sharma has sanctioned a substantial grant of Rs 20 crore for the development of the Taragarh Fort. The historic stronghold of the great Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan will be thoroughly revamped, offering visitors a panoramic view of the entire city from the high mountain peaks.

Additionally, a ‘Leopard Safari’ is being developed for wildlife and nature enthusiasts. Tourists will soon be able to spot leopards, deer, and other wild animals, while also exploring historical symbols and artifacts from the era of Prithviraj Chauhan.

Focus on Comprehensive City Infrastructure

To boost education and sports in Ajmer, the government is planning to construct a new Science Park, a large sports stadium, and a grand convention center. The main arterial road, stretching several kilometers from the city’s main entrance up to Ambedkar Circle, is also undergoing extensive beautification.
