Iran US Relation : Amidst ongoing tensions with Iran, US President Donald Trump said he hopes a deal can be reached between Washington and Tehran. His statement comes as Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned the US that any military confrontation could plunge the entire region into war.
Trump made it clear that if negotiations fail, it will become clear in the coming days how accurate Khamenei’s warning was.
US Military Presence in the Region
Speaking to reporters at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, Trump said the US has deployed a large military force to the region. He said powerful naval vessels are currently near Iran, but despite this, the US priority remains a diplomatic solution.
According to him, the situation could become clearer in the next few days regarding whether the two countries reach an agreement.
Khamenei’s Stern Warning
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sent a clear message to the US on social media, stating that if war breaks out, it will not be limited. He said Iran is not afraid of any military threat, whether it be warships or fighter jets.
He unequivocally stated that Iran does not want war, but is fully prepared to respond forcefully to any aggressive action.
“We will not attack, but we will respond”
In another statement, Khamenei said that Iran does not intend to attack any country, but if anyone tries to harm it, they will receive a decisive response.
He summarized the dispute between the US and Iran in two words: the US wants to control Iran, while the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic oppose this.
Accusations of US Control
The Iranian Supreme Leader said that the US lost its influence over Iran decades ago and now wants to regain that position. According to him, Iran’s oil, gas, mineral resources, and strategic location have always been a source of attraction for the US. He claimed that for a long time, Iran’s resources and policies were under American influence, but now the Iranian people are standing firm and resisting this.
Signs of Dialogue
Amidst the tensions, the possibility of dialogue has also emerged. Trump had previously indicated that a solution could be reached through negotiations. Meanwhile, Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, also stated on social media that preparations for talks with the US are moving forward.
Now, all eyes are on how the situation unfolds in the coming days—towards a deal or towards confrontation.
