Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar Rejects Bribe Attempt During Public Hearing

Jaipur: A shocking incident occurred on Monday morning during a public hearing at the official residence of Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar in Civil Lines, Jaipur. A third-grade teacher from Banswara, Chandrakant Vaishnav, allegedly tried to offer a bribe of ₹5,000 concealed in a sweet box, seeking a recommendation to be included in the textbook development committee.

Minister’s Statement

Speaking at a press briefing, Dilawar said:

“I initially kept the envelope assuming it was a routine recommendation letter. Later, when staff pointed it out, I found cash inside.”

He added:

“In my 35–36 years of political life, this is the first such incident. It is deeply saddening that people assume ministers accept money.”
