From Becoming Miss Pune to the Film Industry
Poonam won the title of “Miss Pune” in 2005, after which she entered the modeling world. She modeled part-time while in college. During this time, when she went to a fashion show in Hyderabad, a director spotted her and offered her a role in films.
Film Career Debut
Poonam Bajwa began her acting career in 2005 with the Telugu film “Modti Cinema.” This film brought her recognition in the South Indian film industry. She then starred in popular Telugu films like “Boss” (2006), starring opposite Nagarjuna.
Entry into Tamil Cinema
After achieving success in Telugu films, Poonam moved to Tamil cinema. Her first Tamil film was “Seval” (2008), directed by renowned director Hari. She subsequently appeared in films like “Thenavattu” (2008) and “Kacheri Aarambam” (2010).
Strong Presence in Malayalam Films
Poonam Bajwa also made her mark in Malayalam films. She starred alongside veteran actors like Mohlal, Mammootty, and Dileep in “Chinatown,” playing the role of Emily. This film was directed by Rafi-McCartin.
Education
Poonam continued her studies while pursuing acting. She graduated in Literature from SIMC, Pune.
