Pali District, Rajasthan – Under the direction of Bhagirath, Deputy Director of the Women’s Empowerment Department, a workshop was organized on Friday at the Government Higher Secondary School, Jawadia (Pali), as part of the 100-day special awareness campaign for gender sensitization and the “Child Marriage Free India” campaign.
The program aimed to make students aware of violence against women, its ill effects, and the dangers of child marriage. At the workshop, Gender Specialist Rajshree from the District Hub for Empowerment of Women elaborated on the types, causes, and serious consequences of violence against women at various stages of life. Rajshree explained that violence against women not only causes physical, mental, and economic harm, but also hinders the progress of society. Additionally, under the “Child Marriage Free India” campaign, he emphasized the devastating consequences of child marriage, such as health problems, educational deprivation, domestic violence, and increased child mortality.

He urged students to remain vigilant and shared helpline numbers to report incidents of child marriage or child abuse in their vicinity. Among these are Childline 1098 and Women’s Helpline 181. He also advised immediate notification of the local Panchayat or Municipality so that timely action can be taken. The specialist emphasized that only through collective efforts can we build a child marriage-free society. School Vice Principal Vivek Chitara, teachers Ramesh Kumar, Shravan Kumar, Pawan Kawar, Usha Bangar, and Gayatri Sangtani actively participated in the program. Approximately 37 boys and girls took an oath against child marriage, and all participants pledged to speak out against such practices in their surroundings.
This workshop served as the first step in a 100-day special campaign that will play a crucial role in strengthening women’s empowerment and child rights across the district.
