A significant meeting of the Gurjar community was held at the Devnarayan Temple premises in Gudla village, Karauli district. Representatives from 12 nearby villages participated in the event, which primarily focused on preparations for the upcoming Mahapanchayat scheduled for June 8 in Peeloopura, Bharatpur.

Vijay Baisla, President of the Gurjar Reservation Struggle Committee, and Vice President Bhura Bhagat addressed the gathering. They urged community members to attend the Mahapanchayat in large numbers. Traditionally, yellow rice is being distributed in villages as an invitation symbol.

The meeting also raised concerns regarding the non-availability of benefits under the Devnarayan Scheme. The committee discussed demands for government jobs for families of the 372 people who died during the Gurjar movement and the withdrawal of criminal cases filed during protests. Committee spokespersons Hakim Singh, Dhirendra Baisla, and Batru Gurjar were also present.

Jawahar Singh Bedham, Minister of State for Home Affairs and in-charge of Karauli district, stated that the government is open to dialogue with the community. He mentioned that Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has shown a positive attitude toward the community’s demands.

Minister Bedham emphasized that solutions emerge through dialogue, not conflict. He said the committee is welcome to meet the Chief Minister any time to discuss their demands.
