<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Gangapur City:</strong> The transition into college life and the lengthy paperwork of the admission process can often be a daunting experience for new students. To ease the burden of technical and practical formalities, particularly document verification, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) took a highly commendable step at the Government College in Gangapur City, Rajasthan.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Aiming to pave a smoother path for incoming freshers, the local ABVP unit organized a special &#8216;Help Desk&#8217; camp on the college campus.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Seamless Guidance During Document Verification</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The primary objective of this assistance camp was to simplify the form-filling and document-checking procedures for newly enrolled students. Often, freshers face confusion and anxiety due to a lack of accurate information regarding official requirements.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During the camp, ABVP volunteers meticulously examined the students&#8217; documents one by one, guided them through the correct procedural steps, and resolved various technical glitches on the spot. This proactive guidance provided massive relief to hundreds of students waiting in long admission queues.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Campaign Led by Key Office Bearers</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This student assistance camp was organized under the efficient leadership of ABVP District Convener Abhishek Sonwal. Throughout the day, several prominent office bearers and active members of the organization stood at the forefront to extend their support to the youth.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Key members present at the camp included:</strong></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Payal Prajapat:</strong> District Girl Student Head</li>

<li><strong>Manoj Saini:</strong> State Executive Member</li>

<li><strong>Gaurav Shakya:</strong> Division Convener</li>

<li><strong>Sumit Verma and Riya Agarwal:</strong> Active workers and other unit members.</li>
</ul>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Initiative Applauded by Students and Parents</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The noble service and positive initiative undertaken by the ABVP received immense appreciation from the newly admitted students as well as their parents. Guardians present at the venue highlighted that such help desks are particularly beneficial for students traveling from far-flung rural areas, as they save valuable time, prevent multiple trips to the college, and significantly reduce mental stress during the admission rush.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Sawai Madhopur/Jaipur | May 17, 2026</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) has emerged as a robust financial safety net for farmers in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan, helping offset massive crop losses caused by natural disasters and excessive rainfall. Under the special guidance and continuous administrative monitoring of District Collector Kana Ram, a record-breaking claim amount of <strong>₹47.33 crore</strong> has been approved for the Kharif-2025 season. This financial compensation serves as a major economic lifeline for thousands of local farming households during a time of crisis.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Scientific Assessment and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Lakhpat Lal Meena, Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension), stated that torrential rains during the Kharif 2025 season caused widespread damage to standing crops of bajra (pearl millet), til (sesame), and urad (black gram) across Sawai Madhopur.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In close coordination with the district administration, joint teams from the Department of Agriculture and the designated insurance company swiftly conducted scientific surveys, crop-cutting experiments, and precise average yield assessments. As a result, a total compensation of <strong>₹46.28 crore</strong> has already been successfully deposited directly into the bank accounts of <strong>51,370 insured farmers</strong> via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The processing of the remaining approved funds is underway on a fast-track basis.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Notably, during the previous year (Kharif 2024), the district&#8217;s farmers received a total claim of ₹35.44 crore. This year&#8217;s approved amount represents the highest-ever payout in the district&#8217;s history—a direct result of growing awareness among farmers regarding the benefits of timely premium enrollment.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Tehsil-Wise Claim Distribution Metrics</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">According to Shyam Bihari Madhuriya, Assistant Director of Agriculture (Statistics), the localized breakdown of the approved insurance claims across various tehsils is as follows:</p>

<figure class="wp-block-table"><table class="has-fixed-layout"><thead><tr><td><strong>Name of Tehsil</strong></td><td><strong>Approved Claim Amount (₹)</strong></td></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Sawai Madhopur</strong></td><td>20.60 Crore</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Chouth Ka Barwara</strong></td><td>8.96 Crore</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Malarna Doongar</strong></td><td>3.41 Crore</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Khandar</strong></td><td>2.89 Crore</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Bonli</strong></td><td>2.54 Crore</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Bamanwas</strong></td><td>2.05 Crore</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Talawda</strong></td><td>1.78 Crore</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Wazirpur</strong></td><td>1.51 Crore</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Bamanwas (Rural area/Barnala)</strong></td><td>1.42 Crore</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Mitrapura</strong></td><td>65 Lakh</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Gangapur</strong></td><td>47 Lakh</td></tr></tbody></table></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During this crop cycle, a total of 68,258 farmers in the district secured 377,687 insurance policies, covering a total agricultural area of approximately 53,968 hectares. The collective premium contributed by the farmers amounted to ₹4.80 crore.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Ground Realities: Low Premiums Yield Vital Payouts</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Sharing his personal experience with the scheme, Merwal Singh, a farmer from Kushtala village, revealed that he paid a premium of ₹5,315 for the season and received a verified claim settlement of ₹1,81,000. Similarly, another farmer from Khijuri village received a compensation payout of ₹1,06,000 for his 5.5-acre landholding against a modest premium of ₹3,800.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Gajanand Jat, the Divisional Secretary of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh and a progressive local farmer, also confirmed receiving a claim of over ₹50,000 after his black gram crop was destroyed by high rainfall. He urged the regional farming community to ensure accurate land records (<em>Girdawari</em>) and immediately report crop damage online to maximize the benefits of this protective shield.</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Kharif-2026 Insurance Enrollment Begins July 1</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Agriculture department officials have announced that the enrollment window for the upcoming <strong>Kharif-2026 season will officially open from July 1 to July 31, 2026.</strong></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Loanee Farmers:</strong> Insurance coverage for farmers with active institutional crop loans will be managed and renewed automatically through their respective bank branches.</li>

<li><strong>Non-Loanee Farmers:</strong> Independent or debt-free cultivators can voluntarily apply via the National Crop Insurance Portal (NCIP), local E-Mitra kiosks, Common Service Centers (CSC), or through authorized insurance agents.</li>
</ul>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Non-loanee applicants are required to pay a nominal premium of just 2% of the total sum insured for notified crops. Mandatory documentation at the time of application includes a valid state identity card (such as Jan Aadhaar), bank passbook, land ownership records, sowing certificate, and a self-attested declaration form. District Collector Kana Ram has urged all regional farmers to complete their registrations well before the July deadline to insulate their livelihoods against seasonal weather uncertainties.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Gangapur City, Sawai Madhopur </strong>: The discovery of the bodies of three innocent children under suspicious circumstances on the banks of a pond in Meena Baroda village, Wazirpur subdivision, near Gangapur City, on Friday created a sensation in the area. Upon receiving information about the incident, Wazirpur police station arrived at the scene and deposited the three bodies in the mortuary at the Community Health Center, Wazirpur.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">According to reports, the mother of the deceased children, Sangeeta Meena, a resident of Meena Baroda, is missing. Her parents&#8217; home is reported to be in Alampur, Karauli district. Family members informed the police and media that the bodies of Sangeeta&#8217;s three children were found near the village pond, while Sangeeta has remained unaccounted for.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Shockingly, despite the children&#8217;s bodies being kept at the hospital, neither the children&#8217;s father nor anyone from her in-laws&#8217; side was found. Family members allege that Sangeeta was married to Praveen Meena, a resident of Meena Baroda, about seven years ago. Since their marriage, she has been subjected to harassment and frequent assaults by her in-laws.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Family members said that on Thursday evening, Sangeeta posted a video on social media, naming several individuals and making serious allegations of assault and torture. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">She has been missing since then.The deceased children include Divya (5 years old), Bharti (3 years old), and Deepak (1.5 years old). Police are searching for the woman and investigating the entire case thoroughly. The situation will only become clear after the post-mortem report and investigation.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Sawai Madhopur , Rajasthan</strong> &#8211; The district administration has completed all necessary preparations to ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized Chauth Mata Fair, to be held in Chauth Ka Barwara from January 5th to 8th, 2026. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A joint meeting held at the Chauth Mata Temple complex on Thursday, chaired by District Collector Kana Ram and attended by Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar, reviewed the arrangements in detail with the temple trust and related departments. He stated that millions of devotees visit Chauth Mata each year, and this year the number is expected to increase. Therefore, all departments should work in coordination, giving top priority to security, transportation, drinking water, electricity, health, and sanitation. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">CCTV surveillance will be conducted at every corner, and alternative routes will be prepared:</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The District Collector has directed the installation of CCTV cameras throughout the fair premises to monitor the situation from a control room, the Atal Path for traffic control, and the development of alternative routes to transport devotees from the temple complex to the ground in case of emergencies. For the convenience of pilgrims, a fair map will be prepared and displayed at public places, and the control room&#8217;s telephone number will be publicized.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Scout, NCC volunteers, fire vehicles, fire extinguishers, three medical teams, and two ambulances will be deployed to assist the devotees.
