Jodhpur city has recently become a hub for bike thefts. Incidents are being reported daily from various parts of the city, and alarmingly, the thieves show no fear of surveillance cameras. They are stealing motorcycles in broad daylight from homes, shops, offices, and even public spaces.
A CCTV footage from Kamla Nehru Nagar shows a thief stealing a bike within seconds. The owner has filed a complaint at the Devi Nagar Police Station.
Notably, over 40 bikes have been stolen from different locations in the last 15 days.
In one incident reported at Banad Police Station, Durgaram Banjara said his bike was stolen from outside his home in Nagnechi Nagar on the night of June 13.
In another case filed at Uday Mandir Police Station, Vanphool Vishnoi stated that his bike was stolen from the Kisan Bhawan parking area near Paota Chauraha on June 14.
Similarly, at Shastri Nagar Police Station, Nikhilesh Sharma reported his bike was stolen from Sector 7, New Power House Road.
The Jodhpur police are reviewing CCTV footage and launching investigations, but no major arrests have been made yet. The ongoing spate of thefts has triggered concern and outrage among city residents.
