Trump Says Iran Conflict Could Last Four Weeks, Claims Major Military Losses for Tehran

Washington / Tehran: U.S. President Donald Trump has said he expects the ongoing military confrontation with Iran to continue for about four weeks, describing it as a “planned timeline” rather than an open-ended campaign. Speaking in recent interviews and public remarks, Trump claimed that Iran’s senior military leadership has been largely dismantled and that dozens of high-ranking officials have been killed.

“A Four-Week Process,” Says Trump

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Trump said the operation was always expected to take around a month. “We thought it would take four weeks, or somewhere around that,” he stated, adding that Iran’s size and geography make the campaign complex.

He further claimed that 48 top Iranian officials have been killed so far and that nine Iranian warships have been destroyed. According to Trump, the operation is progressing “ahead of schedule,” though he acknowledged that more casualties could occur.

U.S. Casualties and Injuries

The U.S. military has confirmed that three American service members have been killed during the conflict. Five others were seriously wounded in what officials described as an Iranian retaliatory strike in Kuwait. Authorities said the identities of the fallen soldiers will be released publicly after their families are formally notified.

Operations Continue at Full Scale

In a social media post, Trump said combat operations are continuing “at full force” and will persist until mission objectives are achieved. From his Florida residence, Mar-a-Lago, he released a video asserting confidence in U.S. military strength. “There has never been a military like ours,” he said. “And now we are using it for the right reasons.”

Trump also referenced earlier unrest in Iran, mentioning a harsh crackdown by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that reportedly resulted in thousands of deaths during protests earlier this year.

“Venezuela Model” for Iran?

In a separate phone interview with The New York Times, Trump suggested that the strategy used by the United States in Venezuela could serve as a template for political change in Iran. “What we did in Venezuela was exactly right — exactly the right scenario,” he said.

As the conflict unfolds, officials have indicated that further developments are expected in the coming weeks, with both military and political consequences still emerging.
