Donald Trump threatened the Norwegian Prime Minister with war, and Trump demanded a Nobel Prize.

Washington/Oslo: US President Donald Trump has sent a belligerent message to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre. He wrote that since he was not given the Nobel Prize, peace is no longer a priority for him. Trump told Norway to tell Denmark to hand over Greenland to the United States.

It’s worth noting that the Nobel Peace Prize winner is announced from Oslo, the capital of Norway. According to a PBS report, Trump wrote, “Given that your country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for preventing more than 8 wars, I no longer feel any responsibility to think about peace at all.”

Donald Trump then turned his attention to Greenland and, in the same breath, threatened Norway. In his message, he said that if Russia or China attacked Greenland, Denmark would not be able to defend it. Donald Trump compared his record to Barack Obama’s 2009 award. Trump claimed that he alone has recreated a deterrent force that Beijing and Moscow respect.

It’s worth noting that Trump repeatedly talks about preventing 8 wars around the world, including the conflict between India and Pakistan in May of last year.

Donald Trump threatens Norwegian PM

Donald Trump’s tone is seen as a threat to Norway. Norway has stated that it would deploy its military to defend Greenland. Meanwhile, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen rejected Donald Trump’s tariff blackmail on Sunday.

Trump has threatened to impose a 10% tariff on goods from France, Germany, the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Finland starting February 1st. If the Greenland deal doesn’t go through, the tariff will increase to 25% on June 1st. On Monday morning, he reiterated NATO’s 20-year-old warning to Denmark regarding Russian threats near the region.

The controversy surrounding Greenland has escalated significantly. While many NATO countries remain silent, some have taken a firm stance against Trump’s Greenland plan. European leaders, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Finland’s Alexander Stubb, have sided with Denmark and emphasized NATO’s commitments in the Arctic without any economic pressure.

According to recent reports, Denmark and Norway are preparing a joint response and may issue a joint statement. Meanwhile, as the deadline for tariffs approaches, diplomats in Brussels are discussing retaliatory measures.
