Pali News: Instructions to operate CETP at full capacity

Pali, Rajasthan – In compliance with reports from the Supreme Court and High Court of India, a meeting regarding the CETP was held in the District Collectorate auditorium on Tuesday. At the meeting, District Collector LN Mantri directed the concerned officials to make concerted efforts to ensure the CETP operates at full capacity.

The District Collector directed Pollution Control Board officials to closely monitor illegal discharges of polluted water and take action to dismantle illegal pipelines. He also directed the District Collector to file police cases against units involved in illegal activities, personally inspect the condition of CETP units, and operate the JLD.

He directed the immediate closure of unauthorized industrial units operating in residential areas and the disconnection of power supply to illegal units. District Collector Mantri directed that if any industrial activity is found on agricultural land, the Sub-Divisional Officer and Tehsildar should investigate it. In municipal areas, such investigations will be conducted by the Municipal Corporation. If illegal industrial activity is found on agricultural land, the Tehsildar and Village Development Officer should ensure immediate closure.

To prevent the unauthorized transport of polluted water, he directed the Pollution Control Board and the police administration to maintain strict vigilance during patrols of tankers and tractors. He directed the formation of a committee to compare old and new maps from the Bandi River culvert to the highway and conduct an investigation. He also directed the Land Revenue Department to conduct a survey along the river banks and within a one-kilometer radius to ensure a ban on the use of groundwater.

The District Collector directed that strict security be ensured that polluted water from industrial units does not flow into the drains of the RIICO area. If such a practice is found, the Pollution Control Board should be immediately informed and action should be taken.

Additional District Collector (Sealing) Om Prabha, Additional Chief Executive Officer Vishal Sapa, Sub-Divisional Officer Vimlendra Ranawat, Pollution Control Board Officer Amit Soni, Water Supply Department’s Kansingh Ranawat, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Naveen Bhardwaj, Police Department’s Sughad Singh, CETP Chairman Ashok, along with officials and personnel from related departments were present at the meeting.
