Patna / Bihar : Nitish Kumar has once again been sworn in as Chief Minister of Bihar. The ceremony took place on Thursday at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna, where a total of 27 newly elected MLAs from NDA allies in the Bihar Assembly elections took oath as ministers. The state government has been formed under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and the cabinet distribution has also been finalized.
Home Minister’s post stripped from Nitish, given to Samrat Chaudhary
A significant change in this cabinet is that the Home Minister’s post has been taken away from the BJP and given to Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, a JDU ally. This post had been held by Nitish Kumar for the past 20 years.

Janata Dal (United) ministers have been assigned various portfolios, including:
- Bijendra Yadav : has been assigned the Finance, Commercial Tax, Energy, and Planning Development departments.
- Vijay Chaudhary: has been assigned the Water Resources, Building Construction, and Parliamentary Affairs departments.
- Ashok Chaudhary : has been given the responsibility of the Rural Works Department.
- Sunil Kumar has been given the Education Ministry.
In addition, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has retained responsibility for departments such as General Administration, Cabinet Secretariat, Vigilance, and Elections.
Contributions from other parties in the NDA alliance
In addition to the JDU, the cabinet also includes MLAs from parties like the LJP (R), HAM, and RLD. Two MLAs from the LJP (R), one MLA each from HAM and RLD have been appointed ministers. The NDA won a total of 202 seats in the assembly elections, with the BJP winning 89, JDU 85, LJP (R) 19, HAM 5, and RLD 4.
