Raidu murder case in Andhra Pradesh: Signs of political conspiracy, video sparks new controversy

Hyderabad: The case of the body found in Chennai’s Cooum River in July has now taken a new turn in Andhra Pradesh politics. The deceased has been identified as Srinivasulu alias Raidu, the driver and personal assistant of Janasena Party leader Vinutha Kota. Raidu’s body was recovered from the river on July 8, and marks of strangulation and torture were found on his body.

Initially, police described the case as a case of personal enmity and blackmail, alleging that Raidu had leaked personal and political information related to Vinutha. Subsequently, police arrested Vinutha Kota, her husband Chandrababu, and three others.

The case took a new turn when a 20-minute video of Raidu, recorded before his death, surfaced. In the video, Raidu named Andhra Pradesh Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Bojjala Sudheer Reddy. According to Raidu, close associates of the MLA had promised to pay him ₹30 lakh if he could obtain personal or incriminating video footage of Vinutha and her husband.

MLA Sudhir Reddy has denied all allegations and told the media at the Tirumala temple that these allegations are completely politically motivated. Reddy claimed that the video’s recent emergence raises suspicions and that he is ready for an investigation. He said, “If there is a political conspiracy, it is shameful.”

Meanwhile, Vinutha Kota, who is currently on conditional bail, has also released a video denying all allegations. She said that the entire case is part of a political conspiracy against her. She said, “If I were guilty, the court would not grant me bail. This is all a conspiracy to spread lies.”

According to police sources, the investigation is no longer limited to the murder, but is also looking into whether it was part of an organized political conspiracy. The forensic team is investigating the authenticity of this video to clarify whether it is real or has been generated by AI in some way.
