China creates history, wins Suhandinata Cup for the 15th time at BWF World Junior Championships 2025

Guwahati (Assam) : China once again proved its dominance in the final of the BWF World Junior Badminton Championships 2025 held in Guwahati. In the title match played on Saturday, China defeated defending champions Indonesia 2-0 to win the Suhandinata Cup for a record 15th time.

In the final, China displayed remarkable composure under pressure and fully capitalized on its strong team composition. The team, comprised of three Asian Junior Championship gold medalists and two silver medalists, helped China maintain its dominance throughout the tournament.

On the other hand, the Indonesian team, which had previously held the title, struggled throughout the match but could not withstand the experience and technique of the Chinese players.

On this special occasion, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his gratitude for the responsibility given to the state for successfully hosting the tournament and congratulated the winners, China, and also congratulated India on winning the bronze medal.

It is noteworthy that this prestigious tournament was organised for the first time in Guwahati, the capital of Assam, which added a new chapter to the field of sports in the state.
