Pakistan government demands ban on Imran Khan’s X account

Imran Khan Birthday : Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan celebrated his 73rd birthday on Sunday, but the government took another step against him on this occasion. Imran Khan, who has been incarcerated in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail for the past two years, has demanded the government block his former Twitter account, X, accusing it of posting “anti-national” content.

Federal Minister of State for Law, Barrister Aqeel Malik, told a TV channel on Sunday that the government had contacted the platform due to anti-army tweets on Imran’s X account. Malik stated that the government has launched an investigation into who is running Imran’s account and uploading anti-national posts. He also claimed that the government will soon be successful in tracing this network.

Supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party held rallies in Lahore and other cities to mark Imran’s 73rd birthday. A large number of party workers also celebrated outside Imran’s residence in Lahore’s Zaman Park. However, the police kept a close watch on the rally and tightened security to prevent any untoward incident.

Meanwhile, the main cake-cutting ceremony was held in Lahore, attended by prominent PTI leaders such as Salman Akram Raja, Shaukat Basra, and Rehaba Dar. Supporters chanted slogans in support of Imran, although they were unable to march towards his residence due to security reasons.Overall, Imran Khan’s birthday was not only a day of celebration for his supporters, but also a heated discussion about the charges and restrictions imposed on him by the Pakistani government.
