Mani Meraj, a popular YouTuber and stand-up comedian from Bihar, has been detained by the Uttar Pradesh police in Patna’s Anisabad area. The arrest occurred as he was about to leave for Sahibganj from a private flat. His girlfriend, Vannu the Great, also known as Vandana, has leveled serious allegations against him, including fraudulent marriage, forced abortion, sexual abuse, and pressure to convert to Islam.

Vandana claims that Mani Meraj befriended her about two and a half years ago by concealing his married identity. Gradually, they grew closer, and one day, Meraj tried to sexually assault her by spiking a cold drink. When she resisted, he promised to marry her and, after some time, they did, but refused to make the marriage public.
According to the allegations, they continued to have frequent relationships during this period, and when Vandana became pregnant, she was forced to have an abortion. Vandana also claimed that Mani Meraj forced her to eat beef and pressured her to convert to Islam.

According to police sources, Mani Meraj was staying at a friend’s flat in Anisabad. As he walked towards his Scorpio car, police officers already deployed surrounded him and arrested him. He was brought to the Gardanibagh police station in Patna, where he is currently in police custody.
Mani Meraj’s lawyer’s statement
Lawyer Shivanand Bharti, representing Mani Meraj, issued a statement stating that this case is a live-in relationship, which is being portrayed as forced rape and religious conversion. He claims this is a well-planned conspiracy to tarnish Mani Meraj’s image.
