England’s bowlers wreaked havoc in Friday’s match, bowling out South Africa for just 69 runs. In response, England scored 73 runs without losing a wicket in just 14.1 overs to win the match by 10 wickets.

Left-arm spinner Linsey Smith laid the foundation for England’s victory, taking 3 wickets for just 7 runs. The South African batsmen were unable to withstand her impressive performance. Besides Smith, captain Nat Sciver Brunt (2 for 5), Sophie Ecclestone (2 for 19), and Charlie Dean (2 for 14) played a key role in wrapping up the South African innings.
South Africa’s Shameful Batting
South Africa only lasted 20.4 overs and were all out for 69 runs. This is South Africa’s second-lowest total in Women’s ODI World Cup history. Wicketkeeper-batsman Sinao Jafta was the only one to struggle, scoring 22 runs. No other batsman reached double figures.
