The nation paid tribute to Gandhi and Shastri on their birth anniversaries; top leaders gathered at Rajghat and Vijayghat.

PM Modi, President, and Vice President paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries. Special events were held at Rajghat and Vijayghat.

The birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri were celebrated with reverence and respect across the country today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Rajghat in Delhi to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. On this occasion, he recalled Gandhiji’s thoughts and reiterated his message of cleanliness and non-violence.

President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan also visited Rajghat to pay homage to Gandhi. An interfaith prayer meeting was organized on the Rajghat premises on this occasion, which was attended by a large number of people.

Lal Bahadur Shastri’s birth anniversary was also celebrated today along with Mahatma Gandhi. Prime Minister Modi visited Vijayghat and paid tribute to Shastriji by laying a wreath at his samadhi. He described Shastriji’s mantra of “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” as a source of inspiration for the country.

Cleanliness drives, morning walks, seminars, and various public awareness programs were organized across the country on the birth anniversaries of both great men.
