Himachal Panchayat Chunav 2025 : Preparations for the Panchayat elections scheduled for later this year in Himachal Pradesh are in full swing. Elections are likely to be held in December, and with this in mind, work on the reservation process in the Panchayats is in full swing.
The Block Development Offices are responsible for preparing the reservation list for Panchayat members and Block Committee seats. Relevant officials have been appointed for this purpose, and are now busy preparing the final list.
According to government guidelines, Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories will receive reservations in proportion to their population. 50% of seats will be reserved for women, while Other Backward Classes (OBCs) will receive 15%.Reservation for ward members will be determined based on the Panchayat-level population.
Reservation for Panchayat Pradhan and Block Committee positions will be based on the population of the respective Block area, while Zila Parishad seats will be reserved based on the population of the entire district.
District Panchayat Officer Vikram Singh stated that the preparation of the reservation roster will be completed before September 25th. He said that the process for reservation of Panchayat Pradhan and Zilla Parishad seats is going on and the final list will be released soon.
