America has intensified action against immigrants, investigation of more than 5.5 crore visa records started

The US has planned to take strict action against those who violate its immigration rules. The US State Department recently announced that it will review the valid visa records of more than 55 million foreigners. The purpose of this detailed investigation is to find out if these immigrants have violated US immigration rules. If any violation is found, the visa will be canceled and the person concerned can be deported.

Violation of visa rules: Visa cancellation process

The US State Department has clarified that this process will be implemented as a ‘continuous investigation’. If the investigation finds that a visa holder is not following the rules, his visa can be canceled immediately. There are several categories of violations, including overstaying the visa period, engaging in criminal activities, posing a threat to public safety, engaging in terrorist activities or supporting terrorist organizations.A ministry spokesperson said, “We cancel visas at any sign of ineligibility,” indicating that the US administration is making its stance against migrants more strict.

Social media will also be checked

Under the Trump administration, social media posts of visa applicants will also be reviewed. The US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) has confirmed that applicants’ social media activities will be checked to ensure that no one is promoting “anti-American ideology.” USCIS spokesperson Matthew Trageser said,

“America’s benefits should not be available to those who hate this country or promote anti-American ideology.”

Increasing number of arrests and deportations

Under this scheme, thousands of migrants are being arrested daily in the US. According to the New York Times, the US government plans to deport 4 lakh people by 2025. Strict raids are being conducted especially in restaurants, construction sites and farms. Protests are also taking place in many parts of the country regarding this action, which is a sign of anger against this policy.

Student visas canceled: more than 6,000 cases

In early 2025, the Trump administration said that it had canceled more than 6,000 student visas. Most of these visas were canceled due to violations, including overstaying the visa period, minor crimes (such as drunk driving or assault). Apart from this, some visas were canceled due to terrorist activities or links with terrorist organizations. Officials say that this investigation has become more stringent than ever.

Interviews mandatory under new visa investigation process

Under its new immigration policy, the Trump administration has made personal interviews mandatory for almost all visa applicants. Along with this, many new layers have been added to the investigation process, which makes it clear that the government is now ready to take strict action against visa applicants.

Questions raised on immigration policy

There is a deep debate going on in the US about immigration policy. While some consider it necessary for security and public order, others consider it a violation of human rights and discrimination against immigrants. Meanwhile, this announcement has become a new cause of concern for millions of immigrants living in the US.
